THANK YOU. I am a pre-PA student working at a dermatology office and every single day I hear providers telling teenagers: "Nothing that you are eating or doing is causing your acne. It is just hormones". They do not mention any of the important lifestyle changes and push the girls onto doxycycline, birth control or spironolactone immediately.

Had bad acne until I was 30. Decided to go gluten-free and have not had any acne at all since then. It was causing major inflammation in my body. I think each person needs to find the food trigger that is causing the inflammation.

Thank you for posting doc. I developed hormonal acne in the beginning of March and I changed my diet and started taking a good probiotic and my skin has been looking amazing. I do have acne scars but hopefully gone in no time.

The topic is so important and helpful, thank you so much!! It's just a bit hard to follow because Dr. Mark interrupts Dr. Elizabeth so often (sorry Mark! I know you are trying to guide the flow of the podcast to promote your work which is totally valid as well) A summary at the end to explain the process of treating acne might help, like a little review. Like for example: first, eliminate certain foods, detox, and then if that doesn't work try this or that test and supplement with these possible vitamins. In general, I think it really helpful and amazing that you are doing this work, I just think it would be helpful to keep on the topic the speaker is trying to communicate and then do a little review after - to provide a well-organized plan, simple guidance, for those who really suffer from this condition. Thanks and see you in the next one!

OMG I feel like you were talking about me-chronic ear infections in kidergarten, a round of antibiotics like every month for a while... When I was 13 I went through a severe stress and then I started developing acne-I had like 3 big zits, that wouldn't heal or go away. I got prescribed antibiotics for a month-after that, for a month it was better, but after... OMG my skin looked worse with every week, nothing would help, I looked horrible, got really bad acne all over my cheecks-it was that bad, that even my zits would break with slight touch. Now I have ton of scars. Kids, never use antibiotics if you have other chance to heal, it is really destroying your gut and immune system. We, the people of Western culture, we don't even have the microbiome the tribes hava in Africa or living by Amazon river-and we actually don't have very important species of bacteria, that would benefit us a lot, but we have species bad for us, that people from these tribes don't

The logic of having good healthy food is actually well mentioned in ancient Ayurvedic medical science. As per the Ayurvedic belief, what you eat does effect your skin, your body and mind. Proper healthy diet is the key to having a healthy body n mind. Good to see that western world has been adopting the Ayurvedic approach

In the United States, a lot of the food that we're being given in the stores, even the health food stores... Are lacking in adequate nutrition because the soil has been destroyed. There's not enough minerals, The right amount of iron, magnesium etc. Not to mention arsenic and heavy metals at your fingered tips. So how in the world are we supposed to get healthy soil and healthy food into our system? Without being overloaded by heavy toxins and heavy metals? Even if you were to grow your own garden, the soil that you purchased to keep it somewhat up to par still is tainted. Because even the water that you spray on it to keep it growing is toxic. The rain is toxic. The air is toxic. This is reality. I think we're just screwed.😮

Hold on ! I always thaught gut dysbiosis was too much of some "otherwise" good bacteria and then they are minimizing other smaller important cultures. If there is BAD bacteria in the gut it's a different approach. I just think it's a little bit misleading to say certain bacteria is good or bad.

Infancy vaccines causes acne in teens, eczema psoriasis and dermatitis, my son very rarely eats sugar no even gluten almost never since he was 4 years old and we have a very natural diet meaning nothing is processed or industrial like seed oils etc but recently we decide to go keto carnivore and my son's skin is much been improved, still some spots at the forehead after been on 2 months in keto carnivore diet but all the other spots in his back, face and eczema in his scalp all gone, even the smell of yeast it's gone. I think even organic vegetables aren't what they were 20 years ago. The use of artificial fertilisers are making our veg not optimal but inflammatory in the guts. Something about the biology toxic cocktail in the vaccines and food chain changed my son's microbiome making it weaker to processes fibre even trying all sorts of home made pre pro biotics like sauerkraut did not help or supplementing with zinc neither no even fasting for 2-3 days. The food today is toxic even the organic vegetables or those vaccines done a lot of harm in our systems.

@ethimself50644 жыл бұрын
They just did - fruit juices have way too much sugar and otherwise most fruits have a lot of sugar so moderation is key. Avocado is low in sugar and next are most berries and tomatoes. Search in her for fruit sugars etc. Good luck. Forgot something in case u are concerned about sugars etc. Minimize starchy foods also as well as veggies that are high in sugars and starches such as: carrots, beets, grains, potatoes, rice. This is dependent on just what u are looking for as far as health issues go. Search this site first as Dr. Hyman is a great site
