Great looking video and good looking area to fly the drone; nice tips as well. Good job on the flying, and thank you for sharing!

Good stuff👍 We use a Mav Air 2 & really like it. You mentioned an ND 4 filter, we typically leave the ND16 on. Do you think a lower # filter is more suitable generally speaking?

I find some people reveal too much in their drone footage. By that I mean, they pan way up and out and take away from the feel of the shot. You have some great shots in this video of flying through some mountainous areas and long a rock face. I've seen others pan so far up that suddenly you have way too much perspective. They take the viewer from a remote bench-cut road in the mountains and reveal to them the ski area a ridge or two over. Or worse, a bustling town. Too much perspective.

It can definitely be difficult setting up a shot, especially when you're new to flying. I've definitely had times where I'm concentrating more on where I'm going rather than setting up a shot!

Man, your shots look really cinematic! The side-thumbing for car-use is useful, thank you!

I've always wanted to buy a drone, and this vid might push me over the line to finally get one. I'm an amateur photographer and love going out in my taco into the woods to get some shots, and this would be a good piece of kit to get some aerial shots I've always wanted to get. My only issue now is Mini 2 or Air 2S 🤔

I love having a drone, it takes shots from an angle you couldn't otherwise get! If you have the budget, the Air 2S is the way to go. That big sensor is going to make a huge difference.

Hey fellow part-107'er! Very nice drone summary. Well done. Enjoy your video work a lot. Missed you at the Big Iron Overland Rally in Kentucky... Did you go? It was fun. Cheers

Do you shoot in 4k?

Have you ever tried the Skydio drone? Unlike the DJI drones, Skydio is at least designed and developed in the US, and has unmatched obstacle avoidance features from what I’ve heard.

They’re really cool for following! I wish they had a better camera.

Ran across this video and thought it was very helpful. I’ve been flying since 2015 and got my Part 107 in 2018. One thing you didn’t mention and I was curious about is requesting and obtaining FAA flight approval in restricted areas. I’m not monetized at this time, but plan to be as soon as I reach minimum requirements. The question I have is are there any restrictions to using drone footage taken under FAA approval in restricted areas in your monetized videos? Thanks in Advance

I just don’t fly if there’s restricted or controlled airspace since it’s apparently a fairly involved process. It’s easier to just use my handheld cameras!

I actually thought the same thing until last summer. When I decided to make the plunge into getting approval I was shocked at how easy it was. Even received approval to fly on the North Rim of Grand Canyon as long as I did r exceed 190 feet in altitude. You make great drone video so I would look into it. However, I’m pretty sure if you film inside a national park with approval, you cannot use that video in anything monetized or considered commercial. Thanks for getting back to me so quick, I enjoy your channel.

@@pizzazzfilms2624 my biggest issue has been getting around the geofencing on the DJI remote! Be careful with national parks - the FAA might approve, but the NPS might not still!

Was most of this footage taken in northern arizona?🤔

Ok but how do I fly the drone and drive my vehicle at the same time?
