An aerial look around the town of Bosworth and the railroad infrastructure to the south of town. You can see the over grown industrial lead into these old silos and one of the few cantilever signal bridges that I am aware of along this section of the Marceline Sub controlling the Bosworth crossover.

You definitely deliver the trackside goodness and one hell of a job brother!! The Grand River shot in Bosworth has been on my bucket list for years and hopefully I can close that out soon!! 💯👊🏼❤️

Thanks man! I've had my eye on that very Grand River shot for a while now, I just haven't found a good way to get there to capture decent audio AND stay within all the "flying a drone" requirements. Hope you get it soon, will look forward to seeing it!👊

Hi Ed. Nice views of Bosworth. I use to explore around that area 30-40 years ago. The town looks like it's really gone downhill over the years, almost a ghost town look. Loved your views of the old grain elevator. And of the signal bridge, even if it is one of the newer style ones. That's the area where Amtrak had that derailment I think last year? Also the flood of 1993 washed out the track bad near there. Grand River runs a few miles east of there. I saw where it was flooding pretty bad just a few days ago. Lots to explore on east of there. The town of Marceline that use to be a crew change. On east is the town of Bucklin where the Transcon crosses the BNSF Brookfield Sub. Then there's Bucklin Hill between Bucklin and Ethel. Lots of hills and curves. Second steepest grade on the Transcon between Kansas City and Chicago. Beyond that is LaPlata which is as far as I ever explored. Anyway, keep exploring, there's a lot of great railfanning spots in North Missouri! Anyway, enough of my babbling, nice shot of the stack track coming through town!

Gerf! I always look forward to your comments and reading about your exploits along the Marceline sub! Yeah, unfortunately Bosworth feels and looks a little neglected, downtown is in bad shape. I hate to see these tiny old towns just kind of disappear. That's why when I can I try to throw in a little "town" footage in with the catches. I have a variety of "old town" footage of towns in Missouri that I've captured over the years for posterity's sake. Bosworth is pretty close to the Mendon derailment site last year, about 10 miles west of where the derailment occurred. Freight Train Drifter and I were just talking about how to get up there to get a Grand River crossing catch. Several years ago the NS KC District bridge over the Grand River near Brunswick COMPLETELY washed out, someone caught it on video, quite dramatic. I haven't made it to to Bucklin or Ethan yet but they are definitely on my list, especially the Brookie/Marce over under. If you're interested in other catches along the Marceline Sub, we've got you covered...I would recommend "Freight Train Drifter" and "Iron Traxide" You Tube channels. FTD covers KC eastward and Iron Traxide does live feeds from several places but most often from either Norborne or LaPlata - his team incorporates both ground and drone footage as part of a LIVE stream, really fun to watch! And thank you again sir for watching! 👊

Bosworth is a sleepy little town these days! Did you delivery in Bosworth or you were just passing through? Thanks for watching John! 👊

@@edfoulks8047Driving through. One time, the cross guards started to come down when I was crossing the tracks. That's enough to make my heart jump into my throat.

@@edfoulks8047 It's not as bad as stalling a semi on the tracks next to the Amtrak station in Kirkwood, MO.
