I was wondering if you could give me a hand I've asked this question to several people and have not got a response from anybody I crashed my bugs 3 and shortly afterwards it got violent shake on the left rear right rear if you're looking at it so I thought that motor was bad and I replaced it but it still got the it don't have the really bad vibration and it's better at taking off since I replace that motor but it now is rocking front to back while hovering and still has a very noticeable vibration when I punch it also when I rotate one direction it does the other direction is fine I'm new to this hobby trying to get in

Hi JD. To add a little bit of clarification for Noobs to your demonstration of the headless function. The MJX Bugs 2 is the only toy grade I know of where you can switch in & out of headless in flight whilst maintaining the original orientation. The headless direction is set at motor arming (headless switch on or not!) and can only be changed by landing, disarming,re-orientating and re-arming. And that's on a quad with a GPS-enabled Go-Home switch. Go figure. Normally headless works the same as on almost all toy quads. (Including Hubsan H501.) Choose a line on the ground (facing up-wind if you possibly can!) Set the quad facing forward on this line and stand straddling it. Select headless and take off. (You can also choose a direction when in the air.) The pitch stick will drive the quad forward and backwards along this line regardless of which way the quad is facing. (If the quad is off this line it will travel along a line PARALLEL to this line.) The roll stick will drive the quad at 90 degrees to this line. Always allow for wind drift. You must start off in headless & fly the whole flight thus for it to be useful. No use at all trying to switch it on once it's way out there pointing Gawd-knows-where. In that case, leave headless off and add forward pitch. If it heads to the left add left yaw till it stops turning. It's then flying straight at you. Hard forward pitch and home to Pappa. (Allow for wind drift.) If on adding initial pitch it stays straight, it's either flying straight at you or away. Add left yaw. If it flies left its going away from you. Add yaw till it stops going left, then forward pitch to home. If it flies right it was pointing at you - add right yaw to straighten it up and home.

Great review, thanks!! I'm very impressed at all the reviews I've read on many sites, in regard to this drone. No one negative review, amazing. I have seen many negative reviews in regard to the Hubsan H501 A, though there are many positive too. I would recommend buying MJX RC Bugs 2. Especially if you're a beginner. I am thinking about buying one of these so when I'm flying mine, my novice friends can learn with this one. A friend of mine just purchased one of these the other day. He is very happy with it.

Did you happen to notice the range of the WiFi FPV? The one that I tested seemed to have a max FPV range of about 100 meters, after which the image would freeze.
@dronecamps7 жыл бұрын
101... Yeah I didn't notice it having issues that close in. But in my test I'm certain I was way out in that field at least 300ft or more. I never lost realtime wifi video. I was close to high voltage power lines to which was keeping me closer in. I'd like to test it further before I give this one away. Yours had issues? I'm not surprised. Must be reviewer's curse again.

Thanks for putting the BUGS 2w and the H501a side by side, since they are defiantly competing in the same space. I have both of them, but are great quads, but I'm leaning towards the BUGS 2, it just flies much better and smoother. The GPS wobble on the h501a is just to extreme for me, just the slightest of adjustment causes it to just flop around all over. Where on the BUGS 2 it takes almost a stop or a start to really get it to wobble in GPS. And take the BUGS out of GPS mode and watch it really fly smoothly. I slightly prefer the camera on h501a, and you get longer FPV range with included range boaster device. And I do like the advanced features of the Hubsan app like the waypoints, but with the downside is that you don't get a real TX with it, so it's not as fun to fly. And to buy the TX for it, that drives the price so high you could add a little extra and get DJI Spark. That being said it does fly very well with the App. Nice review Justin!

Do you think it has the same chipset / board of the Hubsan H501S? I had sold that one because I got a toilet bowl effect in a park. Bugs 3 I never lost control even over teh ocean on a windy day. Great comparison about the 2 cameras, Bugs 2 seems better but it has too much sharpening. I wish they would spend 25 USD more and put a way better camera module without fisheye distortion. It would be a killer. Or if MJX would sell some clip on landing gear and a camera mount to use some decent action cam. I wish also the extended landing gear for the Bugs 3 would be clip on without the need of those too easy to strip screws.

Love my Hubsan 501SS. Flyaways are old firmware or people placing something (external camera or mod) that interferes with top GPS antenna.
@jeff0566jsm6 жыл бұрын
Yea Andrew, I agree with you, a lot of those flyaway issues are caused by people who (we could say) “Won’t leave well enough alone!” Adding this and that, the Bugs (any of them) are great right outta the box! Leave em alone and enjoy them! People wanting to put cameras on top,underneath, on the side, or add landing gear...JUST STOP! And leave them alone...Problem solved

+1 Drone Camps RC - Nice video comparison. I have an H501S and the Bugs 2 is clearly a clone, but, like you mentioned, not quite on par with the 501 at this point... that is... for those 501 owners lucky enough to purchase one that's not riddled with gremlins (dare I say bugs?) like mine came with and refuse to go away. OUCH! I did notice you have a prop or 2 out of balance. Also noticed some flickering. Not sure what's causing the flickering. Sure wish MJX would come out with a Bugs model this size with a fully stabilized 4K or even 1080P 60fps mini-camera similar to the one on the severely overpriced DJI Mavic Pro. Drone manufacturers, except for DJI, and action camera manufactures, such as GoPro, clearly have eyes wide shut and have missed the boat on supplying us with a line of affordable fully-stabilized cameras to retrofit our existing birds. Talk about a missed very lucrative opportunity! Finally, thanks for showing the FPV video in full screen. Too many KZbinrs don't realize how important it is for many of us to see fullscreen vs crappy tiny windowed FPV video to compare different models. Cheers from Thailand!

Certain Android phones appear to be unable to receive certain Chinese wifi channels. If I assume that both phone models support 5ghz you may be able to check using root explorer under the following Android file directory system/etc/wifi there you should find a file called config.txt and if you open this you will see ccode=?? If it is set to ccode=EU try changing it to ccode=US or ccode=ALL and save the file. Then check that it has been saved correctly by opening it again! Reboot your phone turn on wifi and see if it now sees your camera! If you are unable to change your ccode you may need to root your phone. See details on the net.
