My 501ss is going to be here in about a week. I chose the"standard" with the h901a 4.3" screen over the "pro" with the tiny screen and 2 external antennas. Literally drill 2 holes and plug and play to add external antennas to the standard model controller. Will be the 1st upgrade I do along with the rth in gps and or altitude hold mode. Definitely looking forward to getting my paws on one finally!

I bought the Hubsan and literally learned to fly drones.....crashed it more times than I can count, and so now the camera transmitter is trashed. What a durable drone! Now I can fly really well, and so I plan to buy another Hubsan H501S asap!!!! At least you can get replacement parts for the H501S as well.

I have had my 501 for 3 years. It is a great drone to learn on and the video is a little shaky but not bad if you practice. The video on mine breaks up about 1000 feet distance. Max altitude I have taken it is about 400 ft. It has survived a few wrecks (pilot error) and only replaced batteries and props. No updates or mods. I just purchased a zino pro and I really like the gimbel and resolution. (4k , 2k, 1080). You don't need a smartphone on the 501 because it has a monitor. Cons: battery door, blows a little in the wind, AA batteries (I use rechargeable). Toronto covered it real well.

2021 ..I modded my bugs 2se antenna out the back legs and a antenna mod on the controller..1000 easy ..I been looking at the hubsan h501s pro ..still for sale on the hubsan sight ..I love watching this old school drone stuff ..can’t do much with the drones nowadays..mini 2 just to good a drone

I just bought my first drone. I purchased the Hubsan 501S pro or advanced, whichever one it is with the new controller with smaller FPV screen. I love it! My only complaint isn't drone related. For some reason, the video I record isn't supported by my Dell laptop with Windows 10. The file shows up, but I can't view the file. So it's a laptop complaint I guess, lol.

I have the Bugs 2C. For video i either strap on a Firefly Q6 or a Foxeer Legend 2 or a Runcam 2. As the built in camera quality isn't very good. I just use the Legend or Runcams' WIFI capability.

Hey man, the Chinese stores have cornered the market on RC products. You have to buy from a store that has decent customer service. I personally like Aliexpress more than the others. There are some reliable companies Chinese manufacturers such as Syma, jjrc, hubsan and a few others. Neighbourhood stores are generally more expensive

The question is not entirely correct. Each model has its advantages and drawback. Mjx Bugs 2W this is the best choice of the cheapest.This is a good range, GPS, which is very important-brushless motors. H501S - this is the highest range, very good capacity(power) of the battery.This is an excellent, very solid and functional control panel with a built-in screen + telemetry online.So same there is GPS,Very important: the cheapest(spare) batteries standard form factor.Very decent video quality.The only drawback of this model is the camera without stabilizer. My rating a decent model it is Hubsan H501S. In fairness I must say that Mjx Bugs 2W - the best choice for the minimum amount of money.Quality of manufacture of motors I liked the most as well Mjx Bugs 2W.

Elvis Campbell great comparision video on both!!! Still got some points to bring forward is first of all the eye also wants something, tm do you like the carview 4 arms or the Bug view with eyes at the front with several nearby versions like the legendary 3 - 6 -8 - mini... From this point of view the comparission that you make is okay, but wouldn't compare them as an 'OR' more then an 'AND'. On the 2 models putted forward I would go for the black colored quad because it is more visual in the sky, the white Bugs 2C which wasn't into the scope of the comparision got the same problem. But not only when you fly LOS - also when you fly out of sight or doing particular kind of range tests one like to see its bird lets say from a 150 meter range into the sky. I took my bugs apart and put better antennas on it and took apart the remote and upgraded the antenna with a booster added. Whent almost 1mile and a half and still had almost full single. Got scared and hit the return home button. Need to upgrade camera on it know.

Great video. I own both and completely agree with you. I have the 2c instead of the 2w but what you said was right on the money. I use the 2c as a trainer for new drone individuals. I too think the video is lackluster. Also you did a great job on the switches as I repair equipment and you made them look professional and not just a hack job.

To be honest man, I can not pick the best between both of mine... Love em both, I bought the cheaper B2C because I don't particularly like wifi fpv and decked mine out with my own 5.8ghz vtx and 1000tvl fpv system, landing gear and action cam to capture better quality video.. It's fully loaded. And I like my Hubsan H501SS Advanced as it has a better cam, follow & surround awesome hobby grade tx and fpv screen with telemetry and great range. Both have awesome range. Stock for stock but ...the hubsan wins hands down but gotta take in consideration the price difference between the 2. Love em both man.. Thanks for sharing your opinion bro

The best thing you could do is attach a GoPro Hero 5 Session, or Yi 4K+. It just needs a little custom mounting. The Yi 4K+ can even do 5K resolution 4000x3008

Just Bought the bugs 2w . It is super fast and responsive, and a very solid quad . Its my first brushless quad cant wait for the nicer weather to really open her up to see what she can do. A short flight in the backyard resulted in my first crash as it reall rocks when you push forward. Definitely a wide open spaces quad. Thanks Elvis Go Leafs /Raptors Go. I was thinking of getting a MjX Bugs 2W because of the customer reviews were great but then I started comparing the 2 by viewing videos other owners have posted and I'm my honest opinion I'd prefer to stay with the 501. Thanks man, I appreciate the support. The hubsan's camera is a lot better than the bugs 2W. The bebop has a better camera also. The things that the bugs has going for it is the range, it's a great flyer and the low cost. If you have 2 of those quads you'll be disappointed in the video quality. The wifi fpv is no good either. From this video I can understand that you are doing true comparisons, on these two because I have them both,exactly as you pointed out,Hubsan H501s,better build quality quad,you can feel it,firmware sucks?I don`t know I diden`t have any issues in the 2 years I have it,I diden`t mess with the original stock firmware it had,motors do twitch,that sucks and is annoying,I did the door mod for the battery with the cables out,that saved me the fuss with opening the door hatch quickly,the cam without stabilizer gives great quality video ,as for the Bugs 2w you can feel the toy grade build quality,camera sucks,but I also saw the difference in flying...more smoother and faster,if your phone does not support 5G wifi you must have a iphone or ipad,Bugs 2w has also a better price,I also love them both and cannot decide with is better,probably what suites each one. I have flown my hubsan 501 in all conditions, lost it in a tree for 2 weeks incl rain, flown it in 10ms wind, crashed many times and covered 100s of klms of sky. I love it to death. There is nothing better for the money. Phil in Australia

The hubsan has a good camera but is not a very good flyer. Gps can take 10 minutes or more and will suddenly gain 10 or 15 feet when turning. It will also start to toilet bowl often, also only flies 11mph in gps mode and is squirrelly when gps is off. For me, the bugs wins this one with its stable and predictable flight performance hands down!

I am very on the fence about both these drone's, since my Twister Quattro X crashed (I would get another Quattro X because it's a classic ship, and I Love it - can source a refurbished one from sussex model centre.co.uk. But it is £99 but hey I would pay that - because as U guys Know we dronist's and modellers Love our models, if you crash one you just pick up Da pieces, recover what you can and move on - actually my friend is putting the inner working's of it in a Walkera X350. So for my next Big drone project I get either Hubsan storm, H501s - it looks real nice - looks like a good performer, or the JJ RC EPIC, I have been looking at this model for a while and I know it is ALL good.Or the Bugs 3w, again looks like a good craft and I can source this from www.gearbest.com for £79 which represents excellent value for money -so I think any of these drones would fit the bill - Iwill have to ponder on it a while before I decide - I would value any tips from you guys out there e-mail: [e-mail] I was wounded when my Quattro X crashed, I got the flight footage on my PC still. I don't know what caused the crash, I was in Sherdley park in St Helen's - it was either I think just the XT 60 connector may have moved a smidgen, or as many people speculate here in the UK the council or airport's are sending out a signal to down drone's- well I don't know if it's true but if it is it is a travesty - and is breaching Health & safety because any model falling out the sky can hurt a person or damage property.
