Nowadays war is fought 40% on the frontlines and 60% silently, online. A team of hackers can do billions of dollars in damages with nothing but a room of computers and a lot of patience and knowledge on silent pre-exploit reconnaissance figuring out how to deliver a payload and deal maximum damage. DW did a great job covering these incidents. Stuxnet really was a turning point for the world and made way for people like me to formally study and be trained in cybersecurity, both attack and defence. It’s a life goal of mine to one day become a security analyst for ASIS or ASIO 🙏

John 3:16...Correct. And it's not comforting to know our governments have the exact opposite feelings for US citizens. After everything that's come to light in the last, say 23 yrs, & especially the last 4, how do we believe anything we hear regarding war? We are living in a freaking non stop CLOWN-SHOW. How much of this is planned opposition? Media 'stars' has zero respect for Americans, no apologies for blatant lies...even this company / orator is tied by what they can or cannot tell us without being deleted off You-Tube. and the worse part is.. Humans are all to blame. Anything created, can be used for evil.... Even with AI, it's gonna get worse.... True, AI could perhaps be self-aware, but some human still has to develop it and put "safeguards".. If we can't do that today before its starts we don't have much hope when were "in" it trying to solve. Yet, we never learn a lesson... It seems whatever we do, we never learn from our mistakes.... Once again, convenience takes control... and this is were it led us...... We had a chance and we blew it....

I'm from Oshkosh. This was an eye-opener. But it makes me wonder if there can EVER be a winner and loser. There is an Action, then a Reaction - wash, rinse, and repeat. I have to wonder why some are motivated by this highest-stakes way to make a living. Sure, these mercenaries are paid very very well, but at what risk? Do they really know the risk they're taking, and just how fast things can go wrong? I quote the honorable Mike Tyson, who said, "Everyone has a plan, until you get punched in the face". This job entails much more than merely getting 'punched' in the face! Thank You, DW, for this glimpse into a life and reality few could ever imagine. Keep these documentaries coming, eh?

I am afraid so… judgment day is upon us…the new generation is so co dependent on technology that they take it all for granted, as if it’s normal to have this level of networks and AI. The issue is that they are so dumb down and so numbed failing to realise that no network is fully secure and technology can be easily weaponised. It’s not a matter of if but when judgment day will strike! Funny thing is ask an average 20 something year old kid and they don’t even know what we mean by judgment day 🤦🏻‍♂️

This is only the (on record) killing. Think about the other hundreds incident that goes unnoticed and the amount of pain and suffering those people face. We are living in a cursed times.

If we as human beings can’t live together in peace, maybe we are doomed to destroy ourselves. When there’s fire in the forest, wet and dry both burn.

One thing they don't mention, likely for legal reasons, is that the Iranian Centrifuges were destroyed by such a simple piece of code. It would accelerate for half a rotation, then decelerate for the other half, to produce a wobble. The instability intensified and destroyed the centrifuges. Afaik they also used the human exploit for this hack as I've heard they got the exploit into the air-gapped network by dropping USB sticks in the parking lot or somewhere an employee would have found it. Then Viola! Curiosity destroyed your centrifuges!

This was called stuxnet, it was designed to specifically target the modules that ran the centrifuges. Genius.

15:50 "private companies that did work...that the CIA wouldn't touch..." damn, i didn't think there was anything too bloody or suspect or farfetched for the CIA... I don't want to imagine what these mercenaries got up to on these "missions." 23:04 how on earth did that guy on the right survive and run away from that air/artillery strike?! it looked devastating

It just means the CIA has found a way to stay further away from the battlefield. It's still the CIA telling them what to do.

Very nicely produced video with a bird's-eye view of modern warfare, good examples & interviews & facts, and easy understandability for a general audience. Seems factual without becoming paranoid nor excessively political, while pointing fingers where the new ideas and technologies arose and were used.

Amazing the amounts of money spent on weaponry and wars...trillions over generations! How little have we learned that this is still continuing in 2022 instead using innovative solutions toward global peace? This planet is a gift from the Universe but won't last forever. We need to live in peace and explore our Universe and its opportunities for the continuation of our existence.

Towards the end of its reign, the Roman Empire also depended more and more on mercenaries to support its extensive military operations. History always repeats itself.
