why do I feel like video footage looks better than my own eyes sometimes. so crisp and clean.

Wow, marvelous scenes from the drone and so crisp resolution. Makes me wonder what other gems are lying on the cutting room floor!

Really appreciate the footage Greg, it was fantastic. I really enjoyed following along (or trying to follow along) on google maps. Google maps always cracks me up with its helpful place locations all over the place such as, "Japanese Restaurant" .....or as the Japanese call them, "Restaurants".

interesting to see. Especially how some of the smaller towns/villages looked from above. it really looks like organised chaos.

Makes me want my own camera drone, but I can't justify that price tag!

Yeah, I waited a few years while to get one myself as I was living in Tokyo and there's no point in having a drone if you don't get out of Tokyo to film. Fortunately for this year and next I'll have projects taking me out of the big city where I can easily film with a drone. So I think it'll be a good overall investment for the foreseeable future.

@@LifeWhereImFromX Have you ever thought about getting a permit to fly a drone in Tokyo?
@LifeWhereImFromX6 жыл бұрын
No, I haven't. I've been able to get up into towers throughout the city that give me good overviews of Tokyo, so going through the hassle of a permit (and I'm assuming probable rejection) doesn't seem worth it. But I've never really looked into it that heard, I've only read stories online.

It is sooooo beautiful and relaxing even though Japan is extremely expensive it gives me a sense of peace kind of living, I live in Europe and everything is so hasty and flashes by and when I see videos of Japan e tranquility covers me.

Will you be visiting Yamagata prefecture? I have heard so much about it and am hoping to see some of its mountains and temples.
@LifeWhereImFromX6 жыл бұрын
Probably not anytime soon. I have plans for Hokkaido and Okinawa specifically this year, plus I know I'll be filming something in Kyoto. Will probably be out to a few more, but there's nothing specific in Yamagata as of now.

Nice shots! Besides not being allowed to fly drones over Tokyo without a permit, what other rules are there for drone operation in Japan?
@LifeWhereImFromX6 жыл бұрын
DJI provides red areas on the maps as you fly so you know where you can and cannot go. You can't fly near airports, nor can you fly too high, nor can you fly too near to people. They have the basic regulations set out at www.mlit.go.jp/en/koku/uas.html.

I noticed several places (e.g. castles) with signs prohibiting drones unless you had a permit.

this was great to watch - thank you for sharing! I wanted to ask about your experience in flying your drone in Japan - aware that Tokyo is a no-go, but did you come across any issues outside of Tokyo? I'm going to Japan in the spring and would love the maximise opps to fly my Mavic Air!

Nice shots. Do you ever worry about the power lines ?
@LifeWhereImFromX6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, those are worrisome. Probably more so for the drone than for the power lines, as they are quite robust. The little drone would have little chance of damaging it.
