Doubt- When the white light enters the water droplet, why it gets bounced back from the inner surface and forms spectrum. As the raindrop is transparent, so don't u think that the white light should go straight without bouncing. And in a glass prism, the white light also goes straight and forms spectrum without bouncing.

Teaching is superb. But have a confusion. Why rainbow is always formed in curved shape?

Because all the angles in the water drop have to be just right for the drop to send some sunlight to you (standing on the ground). So, with the sun behind you, only those water droplets that have the same angle formed by you, the drop, and the sun. Now, we hope you have no confusion.

1. Splitting of white light into 7 colours is called dispersion of light. 2. White light composed of 7 colours. 3. The band of 7 colours is called spectrum. 4. When rain happening then few raindrops suspend on air and act as a prism than white light option goes through it then it act as a prism dispersion happened.

Didnt met my expectation. ..you only picked one water droplets,in real there are many air droplets in atmosphere therefore it is also possible that the other water droplets can acts as 2nd prism and again make the vibgyor into white light but it never really happens ..

Hey Sourav, It's because of, Prism is made from that material which splits the white light into several colors and diffraction happens inside the prism. White light is made from seven different colors and seven different colors light have different velocity in the glass medium. As white light enters into the prism and it split into seven different colors.
