System of a Down is always the first band I go to when I think of Drop C#, Daron Malakian is one of my favourite guitarists and he definitely helped me get more into writing in Drop C/C#. Plus BYOB was the first SOAD songs I ever heard and one of the first my band and I played live (as well as one of my all-time favourite songs by them), that riff will always just rip your fucking head off and I love it

A great riff in drop C# is the opening in Clean Today by Katatonia, which is also pretty underrated. I also really like the bridge section in Headup by Deftones, the "walk into this world" one. Very simple but effective

To get C# standard,you must tune all of the guitar strings 1.5 step down. Meanwhile, to get Drop C#, only the 6th string must be downtrend 1,5 step down while other 5 are tuned half step down (Drop C# is just D# standard with the low E tuned down to C# instead of D#)

For me, the main riff to Images by Mutiny Within demonstrates that C is actually quite deep. Honestly, you don't need deeper tubings than C. Maybe sometimes A, but anything below that is superfluous, and any riffs written would sound better transcribed up.
