OMG, I just LOVE this so much!! I am amazed at how you are able to pick out individual notes with the flat pick, and not using fingerpicks. Ooooh, my bad! After listening again, I realized that you have a banjo playing the individual notes, and you are strumming the chords. I wonder if I could learn to play this tune on my Diatonic accordion which is in the key of G/C.

If you want to stay on the continental system of diatonic accordion, you're better off buying a D/G accordion for playing Irish music. In the Irish system the C#/D might be the easiest. B/C is the most popular in Ireland, which is a bit strange as most tunes are in one, two or sometimes three sharps. On a C#/D you can play most of the tunes on the D row with occasional notes on the outside C# row.

Could you give a lesson on a song another round by an Irish band named the scratch?

Very nice Cillian. I've finished all your previous courses on OAIM, so I'll add this one for sure. Quick question what pick are you using? 0.6?

As a fella with short fingers is it an ok thing to drop the high A note on the D and form the F#? I don't think I'm going to ever be able to get my ring finger to stretch enough.

Tune your low E string (6th string, nearest you as you play) down a full step to D.

Hi Charlie, this lesson is not for beginners. As Cillian says in the intro you need some skills on guitar before using these lessons.
