Hi thanks for watching and the very kind comments. It was a fun project and did turn out pretty well. I wish I had used a newer bed lifting apparatus because most of them are wireless and the one I used is wired. Either thanks again. Check out some of my other videos as well.

Very nice solution! I would love to have a way to make it face down too. I struggle to decide if it is easier to just mount another tv to the back side, or build a mechanism that has two axis movement. Thank you for sharing this!

0:42 Smith! this is absolutely the best solution to the Flip Down TV Ceiling Mount System in all the net! I've been searching this DIY Project for long time to replicate it in my home, thank you so much for this work Smith, I just a question: What's the angle you give it to the 3 metal pieces that form the main TV holder frame once you cut it and bend it to get it weld? I just can see the the angle must be more the 90 degrees but I would like to know the angle you give it to... Thanks for your efforts Smith...

I am so impressed, sir . 👏 . I love the design it is the only one I have seen the tv mounts face up. That, in my opinion, is the best way to keep the tv close to the edge of the gazebo. I want to make one . I am a retired pipefitter welder . I have a few questions. If you have time to answer them, it would be greatly appreciated . I did like and subscribed. The angle you welded the steel brackets was that at 45 degrees? And did the tv end up sitting vertically plumb when all the way down like you had hoped? With that same design, would it be possible to get it slightly tilted down rather than vertically plumb ? Or if you have given it any thought. The design is nothing short of genius, sir . Way to think outside of the box . I'm going to buy the actuator from Amazon. Can you lead me to one that has the power and length of travel to get it to work properly? My gazebo is metal frame, so I will be using threaded rivets to mount with . What gadge square tube would be best . To keep it light but still strong enough to hold the tv . I'm going to use the 55" as well . Hopefully, that's not too many questions, lol 😆. My name is Tim, and I live in Vegas. It was a pleasure watching you work. Thank you 😊

Is your actuator 12v or 24v ? And the actuator I'm looking at on Amazon is 12v and 6" travel at 650 lbs . Is that good for this project? Also, I'm not an electrician . It comes with an up down toggle switch. Would that switch also wire to a regular electrical outlet? And convert it to 12v ?

Hey buddy, i got everything i need to start now . If you could help me with two measurements i would sure appreciate it . I need to know the measurement from the center of the 3/4" round bar to the inside edge of the gazebo. And the other measurement from the center of the 3/4" round bar to the underneath side of the metal ceiling panels. . That would give me a starting point . And help me to know what size square tube to buy . Thank you sir .

@NINEPOINTFIVEPROJECTS that would be awesome. Thank you . I go in for a major surgery on Friday , so I will be down for a while and not be able to lift anything for a while . But I would like to know those measurements so I can have it all in my minds eye . If ya know what I mean . Thanks for getting back to me . I found a place in Utah , and a cool guy named Matt that got me all new equipment actuator, power supply and wireless remote that can be programmed to know the end points. So I just press one button. Very cool .

I was able to look at the files that I put links to in the description on Google drive. You should see a file there called "TV Mount Assembly Rev 2". You should be able to get your hands on a free CAD program and view that DXF file. You can take dims off of that.
@think2cre81

@NINEPOINTFIVEPROJECTS I looked at all the drawings. I should be able to get the measurements from the center of round bar to the edge of gazebo by using the existing measurements and then scaling the gap . And the one from the center of round bar to underneath ceiling I can get close from the size of the 2x4 and then look closely at the video. Thanks for all you have done . I still say it's the best design for a gazebo ever . I have s much respect for your ability to think outside the box and then make your hand do what you thought would work . Well done sir 👏 👍

Hi thanks for watching and the comments. I think it was right at 3.5 inches. Not ideal but I made it work. The older bed unit I used would only push and not pull. @NINEPOINTFIVEPROJECTS hey buddy , I found a couple on ebay . One is unused with the power supply mounted to it . But when I asked him if it worked if he plugs it into a wall outlet. He replied and said that he does not have the remote to make it work . How did yours work ? Do I just need a toggle switch to make it work . Or do I need a remote control unit just for that actuator and power supply ? 🤔
@NINEPOINTFIVEPROJECTS
@NINEPOINTFIVEPROJECTS 4 ай бұрын
Mine is wired to the remote and I don't think you could just use a toggle switch in its place. The remote cable plugs into the power supply. So you might be able to also find a remote to use with it. If it's a newer type of actuator it may use a wireless remote. Maybe the seller could tell you what type it requires.

Hi thanks for watching and the comments. Yeah I was concerned about the head, humidity, the cold etc. From what I under you can buy special TV'S made for outdoor use but they are EXPENSIVE! I have had a video Amazon Alexa on the porch for quite awhile and it has done fine. So, I decided to put this standard Samsung out there and so far it has withstood the heat after I installed it last summer and some pretty extreme cold spells this winter (into the teens). I am really curious as to how long it will last. Either way thanks again for watching and if you haven't done so already please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. Hi thanks for watching and the comments. I have to disagree with you about some things. First I bought the device that actuates it on eBay for $75. I used scrap steel I had laying around. That and the bearings, shaft and bolts is all the cost I had in it. So, total cost near $100. I designed and built it because that's what I do and enjoy seeing my ideas come to life. I really doubt you could find anything to do this for less than $1000 bucks. Either way, all is good and I appreciate your feedback. I think you subscribed and I truly appreciate it. I'm an old timer and do this stuff because I enjoy it.
