Today we are back with another video and we are fishing out on Mille Lacs Lake. It is the middle of summer and at times these fish can seem to just flat out not eat. In this video I tried multiple techniques before going all in on a technique where you pretty much had to force feed these fish to bite. Dropshotting can be a effective way to catch walleyes and manipulating the bait moment seems to be key when it comes to getting bites. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more!

Unreal technique, I fine tuned it last week up at Tobin lake,Sk. We weren’t even sharp shooting, we anchored up and were hammering walleyes. My hook was around 6-8” off bottom and was working great! My biggest of the week was 28”! Tom, to make the rig even easier pick up a pack of VMC spin shot hooks, two eyes with the hook free to spin around. Made specifically for drop shots. Thanks for all the videos

@@jaegek same with myself, I like it better than jigging, I like keeping the tension and feel every little nibble. Got down to using a 1/4 oz weight for it, got more fish the lighter I went.

Dropshots are underrated...I typically back off from where I'm marking fish and cast the dropshot over where they're clustered, then reel in slowly with a jigging action which helps trigger bites. I'm not precise enough with my graphs/electronics to get right over walleyes and drop it straight down...always worry about spooking the fish especially in shallower depths. It's an effective method indeed and almost always works even when walleyes aren't biting on anything else. Works very well with 3-4 inch plastic minnow imitations whacky rigged onto the dropshot hook.

I must say, u make fishing for walleyes look so easy and very fun to boot. I'm normally a bass lady but I've been venturing more into walleyes. They R to me a finicky fish but from watching ur videos, it gives me more excitement and anticipation that if u can do it, I can too. Infact, I have a 8' med. Light pole I have yet to get set up. I'm gunna get a nice reel and set it up with a drop shot. I have used that technique before and with great results though not with wallets mind u. But I do feel more optimistic now thanks to u. So thank u for ur great videos. Keep it up, cuz what ur doing is really working for u and am sure for ur audience too.

My favorite walleye lake is infested with bruiser bluegills. Hard to get through them with a drop shot leech to catch eyes, at least on all of the obvious "walleye" structure. Might have to get away from those places and just roam around the shallower basin in 28'-35' and try to find small rock piles or humps. Many times those area hold the big perch too. Not necessarily a bad problem to have.

@drdavewi 3 жыл бұрын
@@rarm6053sw Hi Ryan, on the bottom line going to the weight you could possibly use a bobber stop to adjust the depth of the weight. But I probably am misunderstanding your current use of the bobber stop. The weights I use have a narrow wire loop for the line; it is pretty easy to adjust their depth without the use of any additional hardware. Perhaps this is helpful. Dave
