Usually it's not an issue when someone is actually going the direction their blinker is indicating. No time for people who have no clue where they're going. That old lady is going to cause another accident later on. You may not see it that way, but erratic breaking and shifting without using proper signals immediately puts them at fault. Whether it was smart or not to try and pass around. False signaling is no different than break checking to cause an accident.

But in my country, in order to turn somewhere, you need to take the rightmost/left lane in advance or move as much as possible in the direction of the turn. 1) It is written in the traffic regulations with us. 2) This is taught everywhere, due to frequent accidents because of this.

I would've gotten off the bike at the gas station seeing a guy come towards me brandishing a blade, regardless if he's friendly. Biker would have no plan B to escape if crazy guy suddenly decides to charge at the biker, while still sitting on the bike. And even if the biker was quick enough to draw his side piece and shoot, there's still a pretty good chance he'd get stabbed. Knife attacks can happen in split seconds. In a situation like this, ALWAYS get off your bike to create some distance between you and the person brandishing a blade so as to give yourself a fighting chance and not get hurt. Be prepared for the unpredictable.

I think he handed it pretty well. The first thing you should try to do is de-escalate the situation. Demanding action from the knife wielder could be asking for more trouble. Get friendly, diffuse tension, respectfully ask to put the weapon down. Biker did great imo.

bro at 6:30 was doing 50-55 in a 35, tries to pass in the bike lane, and watched her slow down to make a turn. I have been riding for only 7 years now...but that's an obvious DONT...this is clearly the motorcycle's fault and I would hope the lady in the car fought that ruling using the same footage that self incriminates the guy recording...he broke several laws which created the conditions for that accident...even IF she was blinking left and not right that isnt enough to make her at fault...if he had been going 35 like he was supposed to and stayed centered in the lane he would have had PLENTY of time to react. Only reason this accident happened is because he chose to be slick instead of smart

My guess is that the insurance viewed the video, saw the left turn indicator followed by a right turn, and deemed the car primarily at fault. It's very possible that the biker is bending the truth a little by simply saying the driver was found to be at fault. With the phrasing in the biker's title technically it wouldn't be a lie if the driver was only found to be only partially at fault; the title implies but doesn't specifically say 100% at fault.

@@davo3666 Why yes, yes I did understand that. Do YOU understand, that in MOST municipalities, ONE lane of traffic is ONE lane regardless of the vehicle behind or in front. Thus, passing the car, in ONE lane of traffic would be a violation. However, there may be other circumstances, such as lane splitting being allowed, that might have excused his poor judgement. I stand by my statement that he's awful lucky he wasn't found partly at fault.

Sorry buddy. The video at the end is the biker's fault. I was in law enforcement 12.5 years, I was a traffic accident investigator as well. It doesn't matter what blinker is on. The biker is required to maintain control of their vehicle. The video showed the car turning right and the biker was attempting an illegal pass, passing on the right side, and hit the car. I don't care what the biker said the insurance company said. Multiple violations on the biker and he'd go down as the at fault driver. You can never trust blinkers. If someone has a blinker on to turn, you pull out, and get hit because they didn't turn, that's on you. Some states are weird. If you are found at fault for even one percent, each driver pays their own damages. My state isn't that way. I can't see a situation where the biker isn't at fault. It wasn't in the video about the stopping, about to turn, and going again. I feel like if that was the case, it would have been included. Even if it was taken as fact, it still doesn't make the car at fault. The biker hit the car. It's that simple. There is a court procedure that is called summary judgement that says even if we take the other side as fact, which we may or may not, the evidence still supports our side and we want a ruling without going to court. That's that should happen here. The biker's insurance can say whatever they want, but it doesn't matter what they rule when it comes to court.

If my bike has been dropped or crashed it doesn't matter if it lays on the ground for 30 seconds more or 30 minutes more, it's not gonna get hurt any worse. I'd catalog my injuries first and worry about the bike second. It's not like picking it up will undo the damage that's been done.
