City life or Frontier life? Anchorage or Deep woods? What age and would you recommend a young man with little money and survival skills to give this dream a true shot
@peterweikel7123 Жыл бұрын
@intuitivefugitive8852 deep woods, we came her to stay away from the urban spread that every city in the south is suffering from. My wife and I are in our 50s, so we stayed closer to town then i would have liked but it is still a good drive. If you dream of this lifestyle then I offer you the same advice I gave my kids, Chase your dreams, take advantage of every opportunity, and live life to its fullest. There are risks in everything and there are costs as well. Do your research thoroughly. Then search your soul make your choice and commit to whatever you choose

2 Moose and 1 Caribou ... Outstanding. At the same time ... as an armchair hunter ... I did wonder ... why with the caribou meat you guys were not boiling it and getting benefit from the bone marrow & water as well. It might have stretched your supplies a bit. But ... great trip. Now just how much $$ did that adventure cost ?? My youngest son lives in Ak near Fairbanks with his Indian wife and their 7 children ... but he's way too busy feeding family to hunt.

I understand your excitement, Chris on getting the moose. But this is a partnership you didn’t get him alone. Your brother Casey did the calling and why you were sitting there by the fire he was the one who saw the moose, and did everything to attract the moose and then told you .Then you got to shoot him. But this was a togetherness. So just keep that in mind.👊💖

Such a good idea for a series. It's to bad that two different people were not picked. Towards the end Chris's immaturity screams through and it's difficult to watch. While i love the concept the whole thing is tough to watch due to their false bravado and what seems like arrogance towards the animals they are hunting.

Oh no very disappointed I thought it was about nature in Alaska and seeing beautiful animals living there but this is about HUNTING those poor animals , so sad.
@michaelpcooksey5096 Жыл бұрын
Ha ... You like nature to be a nice zoo where people can simply come in, gawk, and pet the bears? This is a survival run where one tests their abilities to live for days using food supplies at hand instead of packing them in. Now if you want to go into the Alaska wild and gawk and take pictures only .... no problem. I'd recommend you take a .44 Mag revolver in a chest holster along tho ... & have it never leave your person. Bears also like to gawk and enjoy their life ... but they look for food to eat; will protect a carcass with extreme prejudice, and will take you down if you endanger cubs ... Oh, please forget the bear spray. It only takes one griz with a bad attitude to end your adventure Interesting though ... wonder if an Alaskan Safari for tourists in country would go over well? Likely not ... the landscape is natural ... no roads to speak of.

Thats right. When youre lost in the woods freezing and hungry and nothing to rub your dong on but some sapwood chunks and you just hope someone saves you so you can get back to some skin on skin action.then you have the blisters that will develop on that thin shaft skin and the splinters could be unbearable. Just remember, when the boots are on the ground the roots are in the hands
