This is the reason I love fly fishing. I continue to learn new stuff all the time. Great video.

I use all these methods but I usually prefer tippet rings for simplicity. Tippet rings seem to increase knot strength over line to line connections. Tippet rings also allow you to quickly add new leader material without having to redo the entire leader (as he explains).

Hello, Super, thanks, how many flies to tie?, two, three etc. (can I use these methods legally in the UK?) Best regards, TM, ;-)

Very informative and helpful video. I have a question regarding the polish technique you described. I believe you said to first tie a triple surgeons knot in your leader. I believe you also said to tie this knot WITHOUT tying in a piece of tippet. Please explain this. I only tie a surgeons knot when I am tying two pieces of leader/tippet together. Thanks.

its basically your "swivel flys" stop knot to prevent it from slipping down the leader

Make a loop with your leader, then feed the end thats going to your fly inside the loop about 3 times and pull. Theres no need to do it with 2 different lines as theres no waste. Its just to make a knot really.

cant you just tie the flies on so we don't have to figure out where the line is coming from? seems too easy.

It would be great if you negated the use of our imagination and actually tied on the flags. Regardless, thanks for the video.
