I don't know about "not going to worry about fuel". We had a belt come apart and it actually started slipping before it completely broke causing the motor to go lean at 34psi of boost. 2 sleeves and 8 pistons later, we decided it was a better idea to be mechanically driven off the camshaft through the front cover. Haven't had a problem since.

The mechanical fuel pump will work great. However, it will also pull some hp from the engine. My guess would be about 25 hp.

I say put leroys old engine in ruby and use junkyard ls motors for the el camino i mean the jets gonna do most of the work anyhow and with the better aerodynamics on ruby she could definitely do sevens with that lsx and another turbo

Because you live in Florida and Ethanol is hygroscopic, you shouldn't be leaving any fuel in the tanks. That's probably contributing to the water in your oil, since water is readily soluble in Ethanol.
