K-Miata has a shifter that you would bolt to the shifter location then modify a shifter shaft going from the BMW transmision to the remote shifter location. The original BMW transmission had this piece that would attach to the transmission and then the other end would slip into a rubber bushing in the transmission tunnel which is very limited in locations. @@xfgfhdjhy i have seen the 2jz to cd09 adapter flywheel and os gikeb triple plate clutch, do you have an ls3 to cd09 flywheel that adapts to the os giken triple plate clutch?

Just some advice, for the pilot bearing adapter, you could probably throw the piece in the freezer for some time to allow it to shrink slightly, which would make installation easier.

Just heads up, the two of these adapters I've done I freeze that input shaft bushing adapter. It shrinks it enough to where it's a fraction of the effort to install.

ahhhh finally!!!!! now i see how it works. As for the shifter solution i think it is pretty easy. Maybe a nice CAE BMW shifter and the adjustable shift rod. So if you need a longer length or shorter then you can simply adjust to reach the shifter once it is bolted down

Sorry in advance for the hoard of questions, but there's not much information from what I can find for an IS300 What did you guys use for shifter and linkage? To me these are the most difficult parts to source. Can you tell us the driveshaft length for a 6 Speed ZF to an IS300? Any major wiring that had to be done to get the speedometer and reverse lights to work? The kit is super helpful but there are smaller but significant items that I'm trying to identify to pull the trigger for myself. Thank you

But the bmw shifter use a arm to move the shifter linkage. so the original shifter location may fit. :)

that is true, but it is a little far forward, but you can extend the shifter back by simply cutting and rewelding it. or using an E39 shifter might work but we haven't tested that.

Use a cliqtuning bmw e36 body mount shifter, shorten or lengthen the existing link bar as required. No other brackets required. Simple

This system has a custom flywheel that was engineered to hold a stock E36 M3 Pressure plate only. then you only need a clutch disc that fits your transmissio. (I.E. if you have a ZF you get a Fine spline disc, if you have a Getrag you need a course spine disc((typically 10-spline for Getrag).

it does need to be brought back a significant amount requiring different slotted engine brackets and a new crossmember, as well as a driveshaft.

there are 7 fasteners going through the transmission into the adapter plate which is sufficient to hold the loading.

What about the speedometer? I've just put in the BMW m3 transmission in my 1jz Soarer, and as far as i'm informed - the Toyota gets a speedsignal from the gearbox, where the BMW gets it from the rear diff, so how do you make these work together?

from what I have experienced with the SC300/soarer, it also pulls from the ABS and will work with the speedometer disconnected. The Supra is different and needs a GPS speed sensor signal creator though found here: www.autometer.com/universal-gps-speedometer-interface-module.html

Totally crazy question, but is it possible to connect the M3's smg to the 2jz? Could that trans hold any kind of hp above the stock M3's output?

MegaherzZwei The amount of work it would take to control the hydraulics that run the SMG, which receives input from the S54 DME would be ridiculous. It’s not worth it unless you can manage it with a standalone system, but even then, the SMG system would give you reliability issues whereas the gearbox is the same 6 speed unit.
