According to the pmc website , you need to cut the guide tube inside the transmission down to 64mm, I have a zf mounted on my gs300 and I get a lot of squealing noise from the brand new throw out bearing touching all the time
@behradsays3 жыл бұрын
No way? I’ll have to look into that. I wanted to pull my trans to put a new oem throw out bearing cause this aftermarket one is super noisy.
@vladislavbalasanyan3 жыл бұрын
@@behradsays does it make a bunch of noise at idle without your foot on the clutch ? If it does the. We have the same problem , I just cut maybe 5mm off today because I felt making it 64mm seemed too short . Did you have to modify or take the hammer to the trans tunnel?

Only where the slave cylinder goes, because it’s opposite side of ka/sr trans. Also the top area of the tunnel, at the firewall, to help with room behind the engine.

I had to have a custom trans crossmember fabbed up for my s13. At the time I did this swap, no one made a crossmember for ZF to s13. There may or may not be one for is300 nowadays but I’m not sure.

Thanks for sharing ! One question tho, what material is this 6 pucks clutch disc coming in the pmc kit ? And how's the pedal feeling, comfortable enough for daily use ?
@behradsays3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure as far as material.. It didn't seem any different than other pucked clutches i've ran. I haven't quite perfected the clutch pedal feel. I first ran a Wilwood 3/4th bore master, and the engagement point on the pedal was at the very top. I never adjusted the pedal rod at the master though. Then the seal on the master blew and I swapped in a stock 5/8th bore master, and the engagement went to the very bottom. Still havent adjusted the rod, so I'll let you know soon! But as for pressure on the pedal, both masters were "street drive" worthy.

You can keep the 2jz trans (r154) but it just won’t fit in the e36 very easily. People keep the e36 trans (ZF5) because it fits perfect and it’s much smaller and lighter.

How much power can these transmissions hold? I’m currently doing a 1.5jz build, forged internals, built head. Looking to be at around 800whp. I want to go cd009 but it’s a lot of effort to make it fit in a mk3 Supra, effort that I don’t want to put forth.

Is there a reason why you ran a 2jzge starter and not the 1jz?
@behradsays3 жыл бұрын
The 1jz starter doesn’t work with the adapter plate. I’m not sure of the reason why they designed it like that though. But the good part is that the 2j starter is much easier to source in the US if you need to replace a bad one.
