According to the pmc website , you need to cut the guide tube inside the transmission down to 64mm, I have a zf mounted on my gs300 and I get a lot of squealing noise from the brand new throw out bearing touching all the time
@behradsays

@@behradsays does it make a bunch of noise at idle without your foot on the clutch ? If it does the. We have the same problem , I just cut maybe 5mm off today because I felt making it 64mm seemed too short . But it did make a difference , same throw out bearing no noise at idle , only a little bit when I Rev to 3k.

Great work man,how did the solid clutch disc perform, i have the oem solid clutch with pmc flywheel,was wondering if it will work. I cant seem to get one with springs for a suitable price. What was the drivability like, is gear engagement harsh or smooth? And will it last as a daily drive

Bahrad question for you: looking back on the adapter plate and cooling pipe run in . Im at that point (grind off 45' from the adapter plate, so not too adapt the coolant line.? What's your thought looking back.... on the video it looks like great option. I have a 2jzvvti slapping in a 81 OPEL Monza. Same PMC set-up BMW. Best video on KZbin on the adapter kit ... how is Drift week working out for you.

I think if I were to do it all again, I would have just deleted the cooling line and ran an oil cooler and sandwich plate to delete the factory filter housing. Thanks for sharing ! One question tho, what material is this 6 pucks clutch disc coming in the pmc kit ? And how's the pedal feeling, comfortable enough for daily use ?
@behradsays
@behradsays 3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure as far as material.. It didn't seem any different than other pucked clutches i've ran. I haven't quite perfected the clutch pedal feel. I first ran a Wilwood 3/4th bore master, and the engagement point on the pedal was at the very top. I never adjusted the pedal rod at the master though. Then the seal on the master blew and I swapped in a stock 5/8th bore master, and the engagement went to the very bottom. Still havent adjusted the rod, so I'll let you know soon! But as for pressure on the pedal, both masters were "street drive" worthy.

You can keep the 2jz trans (r154) but it just won’t fit in the e36 very easily. People keep the e36 trans (ZF5) because it fits perfect and it’s much smaller and lighter.

@behradsays

The 1jz starter doesn’t work with the adapter plate. I’m not sure of the reason why they designed it like that though. But the good part is that the 2j starter is much easier to source in the US if you need to replace a bad one.
