Drops Nord is one of my to-go yarns when I need to make a good pair of socks. Yes, it can peel and felt, but overall it's a really nice and durable yarn that holds up really nice in socks ❤

Good to know! I liked Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk held with Drops Nepal 🙂 I'm knitting with Drops Melody right now and it's not great at all, the hairs fly everywhere and I thought the polyamide core would be stretchy, it is not 😩 The hairs fly everywhere and the core is stiff 😭 Drops Snow also was not nice to work with, the fluff flies everywhere and even once you're done, the fabric ends up looking a little cheap 😢 Drops Kid Silk was okay, nothing special but affordable for silk mohair.

It's always interesting hearing your reviews of yarns that I've tried because it gives me a lot of confidence that our yarn experiences are often similar. When I first felt this yarn, it felt soft yet with an underlying feeling of slightly scratchy. But oddly, the more I worked with it, the less scratchy it felt. Overall, it's pretty soft and has a nice wearing experience (for socks). The halo gives it a cozy feel. I recently knitted with Lang Alpaca Soxx, which was so much more expensive and not as soft, so I'd choose this one any day. This might be fun to hold double with maybe a mohair or suri (or their brushed alpaca silk for an aran weight maybe?) and at this price it's a good choice. As an aside, I noticed someone mentioned Gepard Garn Woolia and though it's not at all related to this review, I am super curious about it too!

I am making a Lova sweater with Drops Nord and it's a delight to work with! Drops has periodic sales for their alpaca yarns so im hoping to stock up next time. Wool Warehouse sends the sale notifications in their newsletters. I love the blue you used in the review! ❤ Merry Christmas!🌲🎄

Hi thank you for the review. Could you please review Lana Grossa Soffio yarn. I am trying to find mohair alternative that is less warm, as I leave in hot climate but still love the look of mohair garments. 🙏

We will add that to our list!:) We have done a few mohair alternative yarn reviews if you're interested, we made a playlist!

Would you mind doing 'Hjertegarn' 'New Life Wool'? It's 65% wool, 35 polyester/nylon, but it's supposed to be made from recycled sweaters without the use of dyes or chemicals, so it sounds very interesting, and I'm very curious about if it's worth using. I'd also be very interested in knowing more about some of the other yarn brand products made from recycled materials. Have you come across any recommendable ones, and are they worth paying extra for?

That does sound like an interesting yarn! We haven't done very many recycled material yarn reviews, but unfortunately our experience was that they were pretty rustic/rough feeling.

@@UntwistedThreads That's fair, but it also just makes insights such as yours more valuable.
