@@mk2nathan i use a Shakespeare firebird with 10lb line and a wire trace. They are cheap and hold up well. Small little rods so easy to carry up and down the canal no problem and just remember a landing net. Lures you can get online and multi packs for cheap. 👍

@@all.round_fishing Thanks for the reply mate. Also would you recommend the 6ft, 7ft, 8ft, 9ft or 10ft rod. Thinking of buying the 7. Also being totally naive to lure fishing, is this set up okay to target smaller perch as well as double figure pike? I live on the Grand Union Canal where I know people who have caught 20lb Pike from my local stretch so would be good to know before purchasing.
@all.round_fishing3 жыл бұрын
@@mk2nathan I use the 6 but a 7ft would be perfect in my opinion. I live on the GUC aswell. Just make sure you have a bit of a loser drag so they can still run (like playing a large carp) a long wire trace and 10lb braid. Practice makes perfect. Chop and change rigs and tactics, take long walks up and down the canal, talk to other fishermen to see if they have tips for that area. Try find little nooks and weedy patches where the predators might hide 👍 hope this helps mate
