Hey Alex, just a little tip you can always use the window in your sleeper berth to look out of when blindside backing. Also, you could even buy a little mirror and put it on your passenger visor and you can see perfectly. Those are some things I learned from all the tractor supply loads at CFI haha. Anyways, great video and safe travels.

Hey Alex, something to think about with going to a Volvo. At my first company the senior drivers got peterbilts and rest of us got freightliners. After a while they bought a few Macks. While the Macks were closer to the peterbilts in build quality which is really good, the guys in the Macks rarely could get service when they needed it. That volvo is likely to be a similar experience. After a few months I got used to the freightliner and if I ever needed anything I could find a dealer or shop anywhere.

Alex. STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT YOUR COMPANY AND YOUR TRUCK. I've been driving professionally for 20 years. Rule #1 don't air your laundry in public. Hopefully you have a long and successful driving career ahead of you. One of the ingredients to accomplish that is to keep your grievances in house. Nobody likes a bridge burner. About the weather. View it as a learning experience. Slow down and use the MANUAL option on your shifter. We enjoy seeing and hearing about your driving experience. BUT all drivers have complaints and after awhile they get old. Good luck, stay safe and POSITIVE.

Hey Alex, time to hate me. Yesterday (Thursday) I test drove a brand new 2024 Kenworth T680, it's incredible ride control comfort it pulls like a beast! The only thing is its light blue though at just over $200,000 I'm talking to my partner about selling most of our other Kenworth's in favor of an order of 4 trucks. If he agrees to it, I will own 50%of the company I work for. Let's say N.C. to Mass to N.C. Then N.C. to Florida to N.C. and start over! That's basically my runs right now. I also rotate drivers to team drive with me.

Run your defroster so they aim at the windshield. That will help them defrost. Use high heat setting. The ride for your truck, or any vehicle, is how the suspension is set up. That does make a difference. Keep your windshield washer fluid full, and make sure its rated for below 0 temperatures. That will help also.

Toilet, small tiny sink, in the kitchen area , has a single drawer dishwasher. Enough room for all the other things needed in the kitchen. Clothes closets and storage , pantry , even small place for place to stop cleaning supplies. Bed a queen size bed . You pull down with a dining area for six of you wanted too! I already have picked my colors Dark Mojave Desert Orange, with midnight Mojave desert Blue , with fiber optic cables to simulate stars . Carpeting black that would be to show it is the roads to be traveled .

I'm in a Volvo 860 and love it. The only problem is if my truck goes down 9 out of 10 it will have to go to the dealership. Parts be limited at truckstops. Also, it rides 10x better than a Freightliner.

The trucks are lighted for higher payload at gross also. But yes, it very much decreases ride quality.

You can most definitely do 90s in a freight shaker…has a tighter turn radius than kenworth too

The kenworth and the freight liner are not very different in weight . As for feeling light in the steering where is your fifth wheel set ? If it’s all the way back and your light on the steers move it forward and shift more weight onto the them .

I guess the problem is you’d need to put the camera on the back of the trailers and who would pay for that ? there must be thousands of them If you put it on the back of the cab you’d just see the front of the trailer

I'm out West in SoCal no snow or ice here except in the mountains. But it's expensive as hell to live here though. I saw a Variant truck the other day too and was about to see if it was you but remembered you're with GP Transco now.

Really? A driver that won't go here, or there, because of traffic or weather "out West"? Please. He's whinny, entitled and needs to grow a pair frankly.

@@donleamon8653 I was thinking the same thing. Give it a year and he’ll be out of the industry. Complaining because you’re bored and need to entertain yourself is one thing, but whining about wanting a KW, and every little thing, it gets old
