I disagree! Even starting with Marx..the people in spiring/ starting and keeping such movements going often are not the actual " have nots". Marx came from a well off home and could live as he did thanks to loans from his rich family. He was not born in working class and never really did the kind of job working class people do. What he did was live in poverty..kind of..by choice. Similarly you see now that many of the leading people amongst campus marxists..be they in that alphabetsoup or in the pro palestine or environmental movement..or in all 3...they are not people who come from "have not" being envious of the " haves". Their motivation imo is not envy but arrogance actually typical of the " haves" of thinking they know best for those " poor folks below them"

@@yardengali Good points. Bu I don't think I stray from your critique perhaps as much as you think. I think arrogance of the not-so-have-nots is a factor, I concede: but in their arrogance they use the envy of the masses, cynically maybe, to rise to power. Political power is addictive. Envy and resentment is still a very substantial ingredient in the mix of the motivation of the movement. Thus, the have-nots calculate how to "run the show", so to speak. Power and tge adulation of the masses is a powerful drug. Thanks for making me think. Be well.

The Bolshevik revolution was not a revolution whatsoever! It was a coup! Russia was not industrialized during those times so no Marxist revolution took place. No workers united to overthrow capitalists. Instead, it was a strategic move by the Germans during WW1, to send Lenin (by train that had such priority to travel that, it is said, it sidetracked another train with a Prussian prince inside in order to pass) from Switzerland to Moscow, so as to create domestic turmoil, thus neutralizing the Eastern front of WW1. This was a move that actually paid dividends for the Germans and almost won the war for them. Unfortunately for them they poked the American bear by interfering with Mexican affairs which brought the pissed Americans over to Europe and that eventually tipped the scale against the Germans. The Bolsheviks had their coup, usurped power from the Socialist-Revolutionaries who got over 50% of the votes and their coalition with the Mensheviks, and the rest is history. "Revolution" is the word they marketed in the aftermath so as to whitewash what was essentially a political coup and a dictatorship, which of course, according to Marxist thought is always justified as long as you believe you represent the proletariat (while the others, somehow, don't!). So, Marxism is all about subjectivity and who ends with the power to control the narrative. Marxist subjectivity is everywhere apart from his crown jewel : the moronic theory of labor value which is supposedly an objective metric of surplus value generation. A metric that Eugene Von Bohm Bawerk deconstructed, basically rendering it a phony, using Marx's own logic to defeat it. I have since developed a much simpler practical example to debunk that moronic theory.

Jack comes from a viewpoint that humans are divine being, endowed with an eternal soul by their Creator. He believes in the goodness of humanity and that humans generally speaking want to do good. However, there is a growing group of people whose behavior is so abhorrent, their ideas so disconnected from reality, they have lost their humanity. I don't follow Jack super close, but I like him. He needs to be watched closely given his roots in Naval intelligence, but he seems alright to me. Definitely intelligent.

Greece was completely de-industrialized by communists and the syndicates that pressured politicians and the industries themselves to increase their cost (in wages, taxation, energy, benefits, etc, etc) and now the country is without a single industrial sector (apart from refineries for which they only allowed two licenses, one for the State itself and one for a crony family of ex-ship owners!).
