Absolutely. I was in kind of an emotional low point a few years ago and I got exposed to some of those "gurus", mainly redpill and self-improvement ones. I would lie if I say that I didn't lose some money looking for a "philosopher's stone" that never existed, but at least I didn't lose as much as others (there are gurus literally scamming people thousands of $ with overpriced and useless courses/material) and snapped out of it soon enough. The key is to be aware of your emotional state. When you are fine you think you can't fall for these things and even make fun of those who do, but when you get depressed for whatever reason you become incredibly vulnerable.
