Exactly Mukhtar! I like both characters, but I never liked the way they were written as being so unrealistic in their views of one another. Brooke is definitely a character written to be more loose with her morals, whereas Taylor is written to be more clear in who she is; however, Taylor is no saint, & Brooke is no demon. They’re both just flawed women who happened to be in love with the same (VERY) flawed man. It’s such a shame that Ridge never gets near the criticism that Taylor & Brooke do. Why are we so quick & comfortable criticizing women, but not men? Fact is, Brooke kept THE letter from Caroline. That is the only reason Caroline went through with the wedding to Thorne. That’s not true at all Caroline read that letter and still chose to marry Thorne. For so many years I’ve had enough of people trying to run under Carolines umbrella. Not even knowing the truth about what purpose her character originally served. Had she not left the story Ridge would have not chose to marry her and Brooke would’ve never lost her baby. The only reason that marriage took place is because it was setting up for Caroline’s devastating exit from the story. And your precious Taylor would have probably never made her way into the storyline. Taylor only exist because of Caroline leaving. What if I told you Brooke Logan the very character all of you hate was supposed to take the role of Taylor and Caroline the role of Brooke. That’s why Caroline was the first to keep it in the family. Because this triangle was originally set up for Ridge, Brook and Caroline. You love Caroline so much today because her character never got the chance to play out her true purpose. But had she stayed it would be Caroline you would hate today. And Brooke Logan your favorite. Her and Ridge did get married and it took three years to do it. If Brooke had never wormed her way into Caroline's life in the hospital and won her trust, and pretended to be her "best friend", she never would have had a chance with Ridge or even been anywhere near his orbit. She used Caroline to do it! Caroline was painted as Ridge's social equal from the start and Brooke just as the valley girl who came from nothing. Your Brooke was always a manipulator. She was off suing Aron Spelling for not being cast-in Melrose Place, etc, etc. The high ratings were because of the Fab Four John McCook, Ron Moss and more importantly Susan Flannery and Katherine Kelly Lang. The chemistry between these two women was instrumental in bringing the show to fame. Whether they hated or loved each other they were never boring together.
