I used to chronically not wear a seatbelt. But I had a change of heart when I realized that it wouldn’t just impact me. If something happened, it could impact the driver, it could impact the medical responders to the scene, I could waste vital resources in a hospital. It’s not just about keeping me alive, it’s about reducing my negative impact on the world.. 🌎

Re: the seatbelt question In german driving school I was taught: When you're the driver you are responsible to make sure that everybody is wearing their seatbelt. If they don't, you refuse to drive. It's as simple as that. You are responsible and you're also in control, because you are the driver.

The person whose fiance's family won't wear seatbelts and neither will he: if they don't want to wear them while you drive, kick them out. I'm serious. I had a very similar situation with a family member and have lost family members to car accidents they could've survived had they been wearing seatbelts. Your partner knows the story and refuses? Don't get married unless he's willing to respect you. That's wild that he doesn't give a shit about your trauma.
