What about valsartan, losartan and similar drugs: are the same as ACE inhibitors?

No, but it has a similar effect. ACE Inhibitors block the production of Angiotensin II by blocking the Angiotensin converting enzyme. Valsartan and losartan doing block the production of Angiotensin II. Instead, they block the receptor for Angiotensin II. But all of them block the activity of Angiotensin II, either by reducing its production or by reducing its binding. Makes sense?
