I put Lansinoh on my lips every night, and have for a few years. My lips never get dry, or chapped. Enjoyed this video very much. Blessings...MaryEllen

Dr Sam TRUST ME! Having suffered with Keratosis Pilaris for years on my arms and thighs, dry brushing before a shower a couple of times per week, followed by Avene Akerat cream afterwards, will rid you of those annoying little pimples forever! :-)

I react to lanolin and it is a known common allergen. I am sure you two would know this. People should always do a patch test on their arm first and wait 48 hrs. to see if they reacted. I react to essential oils as well. Maybe you should do a video where you explain to people that just because something is termed " all natural" doesn't mean that one won't experience allergies, contact dermatitis, or adverse reactions to it!!! I am fine with petrolatum even though it is just long chain alkanes from petroleum but not lanolin coming from the sebum glands of sheep.

Great info! One question I have is this. Could you recommend a drugstore product that would help with the irritation of Retin A? Thanks and keep sharing your wisdom and knowledge!

Debbie Rogers Back off on your Retin A first.
@drina4706

Debbie Rogers Firstly, apply it less. As in maybe just once or twice a week, always at night an always wear high SPF. Secondly, products from the avene toleriane range ( I think it is avene) tend to help with reactive skin. Do some research on that. Thirdly, something rich in niacinamide should also help. I do mine only once a week hoping to increase to twice and I always use the CeraVe pm moisturizer afterwards and even the next day. It has niacinamide, ceramides, hyaluronic acid and other scientifically proven skin active compounds that will soothe and heal the barrier of the skin. And CeraVe is drugstore and you can get coupons on it ( if u are in the USA). It is indispensable and made by Valeant which is a pharmaceutical company. Give it a try and stay away from acid treatments of any kind if you are already inflamed and using tretinoin. I developed dermatitis that lasted a year because I combined the two!!! Some people can do both but some of us can't bc we develop adverse reactions. I hope I helped!!!😃

Ohhh and I saw a dermatologist and she confirmed all of this. And I got two prescriptions to get rid of that dermatitis. So, it isn't worth it. You will get cell turnover with retinoic acid. Just by a different mechanism than AHAs and BHAs and dichloroacetic or trichloroacetic acids.

I've heard this over & over about the Avene product needing a better dispenser. Why not de-pot it to a better pump? I re-use my Sunday Riley Good Genes bottle because i LOVE that is has a very controlled pump & glass bottle. I put moisturizer from a pot (Belif) in it and it works magically.

LOL when you mentioned the Avene product for siblings :) I thought it was just me. You have to be very careful not no get too much out and when you're finishing the tube it's a twisted mess! The product is great though for angry/reactive skin. But once mine is back to normal I always switch to sth else.

Hello Dr. Sam,Thank you for your videos because they are amazing!!! Please, keep going. I would like to ask you about CeraVe products. Many Canadian dermatologists recommend this drugstore brand as a good one. What do you think? Thank you, Anna

Anna many American ones.do as well. These are really great quality products made by a pharmaceutical company. All North American doctors recommend them as my PCP ( your equivalent of general practitioner) did as well.

Hi Dr Sam, I wonder if you realize how much you talk over your colleague? It seems as though as soon as you get an idea, you can't wait until she finishes a thought/comment before you start talking over her.
