Mad props to Dru Hill for dealing with such a dark topic in a sensitive, thoughtful way. The father may have been a predator, but her man was her PROTECTOR. This is real life for many people. For me this video is about courage. There is nothing more powerful than BLACK 💘 LOVE.

LJ, thank u for your post and God bless u! Yes, this has definitely been happening to her, like most people, it starts as a young child. The parental figure threatens and brainwashes the victim for a number of years and they get used to it. Even as adults, they are afraid to tell someone or even tell their parent "no". I personally have cousins whose grandfather had been victimizing them for years into their early adulthood. He is now deceased and they experience depression like never before. They are scared inside and they hide things from people, and to the victim and the perpetrator, it becomes" their little secret " for life. They really don't know who to trust so they live with it in shame. And then they go on and allow other people to manipulate then sexually and physically because they feel like they're alone and nobody understands or cares. Only God can heal, deliver and set free from this mental entrapment and bondages, by the blood of Jesus! It's all a trick of the enemy, but Jesus has destroyed his very plots of destruction and hatred for the world and God's people!
@evangelistkisha9 жыл бұрын
Thank u Sexybluelady .lady for your comment and opinion. It is very unfortunate that u live to accept "man's" way or thinking in pure carnality. I have read, studied, and taught the bible through. And although the enemy has deeply penetrated your mind into this negative way of life, "GOD" is still GOD, and neither u nor the enemy can take that away from Him! Many things and "ways of the old" has changed and evolved throughout human history, preceding back to biblical times. The Bible is a Testament of faith and of God and what His people struggled through and how many things that happened back then is happening right now. Some things are considered an abomination and results in consequences if not carefully followed by GOD'S commandments and teachings. GOD IS STILL MERCIFUL AND JUST TO FORGIVE EVERY SIN! I pray for your soul that u will one day prosper in the Lord and your life would be a testimony to the truth and knowledge of GOD. I pray for u now, that the blood of Jesus cleanse u and salvation be upon u, in Jesus mighty name! Amen.
@sexybluelady9 жыл бұрын
+Nakisha Hudgins *edit* since iphone left a few typo's "Only God could help". looks like someone never bothered to read the Old Testament.... gawd had no problems with rape and incest, it was enjoyed by the Judaeo-Christian gawd so much in fact that it was condone and even sanction throughout the bible. Out of the ten commandments, thou shall not rape just so happen to be left out. It was common place during that time period, so much so that the tribes who wrote the early books of the bible, also wrote in laws stating that a woman would have to marry her rapist, or that a rape wasn't considered a rape if the woman didn't scream loud enough for the town folk to hear. If your father wanted to continue the blood line and his wife(s) had died, or could not conceive guess who was next in line.... it was perfectly okay for him to rape his daughters, according to the bible. My goodness people, become familiar with your religious cults history and set of ideas before, posting up your praises to a system that would not even recognize you as a person, but instead view you as piece of property, with no voice or rights...

Terrell Jones amen my nigga. You got that right. Such a promising actress with such a bright future ahead of her. Didn’t want to get treated for her cancer cuz she wanted to eventually have a baby. And this kind of stuff happens. My homeboy who has cousins in the south sees this kinda shit sometimes. In fact his neighbor in Mobile has like, six kids with his daughter. No one does anything about it. It’s insane.

The video came out in 96’s, Michelle Thomas didn’t pass away until the end of 98’s around Christmas. That was like three years after this Video. R.I️..P. to Michelle, I️ remember when she passed! I️ had a huge crush on her back in the day! She was a beautiful actress, who was just beginning! Myra is part of her legacy, that iconic character still lives on, through reruns!

So the victim is forced to carry the shame, as if they did something wrong. But it's their (the predators) shame to carry not yours! 🙏🏾 for all who have been affected by this. I hope you find your path to healing.

I have a serious question but I probably won’t get a clear answer. Was her pregnancy by Jazz?! I hope so for my sanity…the story was always traumatizing. Rest in Paradise to Michelle Thomas.
