One of the most recent videos of yours I watched was Jay Postones and it's amazing seeing the differences here. Jay's swooping, looping style with big hits versus this which is pure speed and economy of motion. Literally the smallest possible movements for the fastest, most accurate sound. It''s so cool.

I just checked and I realized you have never reacted to Joey Baca of The Contortionist. You should definitely get around to checking his playing out. His playing is creative, groovy, detailed and musical and hes excellent at using modulation and polyrhythms to create tension and release Theres a video of him playing Language Pt.1-2 live with the band thats a great intro to his style

Agreed but there's something to be said for loose tuning as well, like the warmer, fuller tone and ghost notes in slow songs really covers more distance. Personally I currently use a 13"/7" snare that thrives in the higher tuning range and I love it.

Chason is quite possibly one of, if not thee most underrated extreme metal drummer. This dude has been killing it for over a decade. The impact his drumming had on the early deathcore sound is undeniable. Burning the masses was ahead of their time.

the first time i seen chason was in Rochester with the faceless,rings of saturn and after the burial. one thing that stood out was HIS FEET!, SINGLES BABY!!! god damn raw power just about blew my mind. watching the ROS drummer use a softer more efficient technique then chason.... it was night and day for me. like most drummers chason has a groovy side too and his play style pleases me..

You can tell at the end of part 1 how he's leaning, where he looks like he is at max for his double kick speed. That lean happens when you're trying to adjust mid-song to get your toes lower on the boards for swivel. He played the 1st half heel-toe, making it look like he's more comfortable that way and switched at the end for that big bass roll at the end

Hey Andrew, I've been thinking (and subscribing to your channel as I appear to have never done that - my bad), you've done some pretty epic reactions lately from some epic drummers playing epic music styles, and I'm ready to relax just a little. I'm 50 now, and my drumming days are looooong behind me but I still really appreciate the complex things in music. So instead of reacting next to Elia Wood performing with Shania Twain "That Don't Impress Me Much" (Barretos, Brazil 2018), can you do some vids or reactions to more complexities within the drumming world, especially related to time signatures etc?
