This young man is probably the greatest drummer I’ve ever witnessed in my life . I’ve been playing drums for 60 years now. I’ve lived drums my entire lifetime, asides from my career in law enforcement for 28 years which was very good to me with a great pension, but making a living playing Jazz drums was an impossibility unless you lived in Europe! But again, watching this young man truly inspired me at 72 years of age to realize how much I still have to practice to be 10% of what this Beethoven of drums is today! Gods blessings to him and thank God he gave this young man this abilities to be the greatest drummer ever in our lifetime!!

I agree mate. I saw Buddy twice, and my dad is a Rich fanatic - how many times have I heard "there will never be another Buddy Rich" But then I saw a video of Greyson... I saw that left hand, I saw the precisiin of execution, I saw the power, the technique. Then I heard him speak. That was when I thought... aha! This... this is the new greatest. Greyson thinks there is no such thing as a 'greatest' only a best of a particular time. I say Greyson is going to be the greatest drummer this planet has ever seen. He's got it all.

Greyson is a phenomenon. He needs to insure those hands for a million. Actually, the left for a billion.

You said exactly what i said to my drummer friends... This kid is Buddy Rich reincarnated... absolutely mind blowing control and smoothness. As a drummer of 40 years, my mind was blown when i was shown this. Talk about a God given talent. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

He's not a reincarnation, he's him. Yeah he does a lot of things from Buddy's book but he honors his inspirations and brings his own flavor and feel into it. He's incredible!
@mariomarioco9582 Жыл бұрын
Reincarnation really means that you got some parts of talents and thoughts that came from another life, it's not about a single individual. This guy right here got some work behind (Hours ) for sure, but his roots got cyclic talent that the probability you or us got one of those,... its minimal.

@@mariomarioco9582 - It's more about influence, observation, absorption of Jazz greats, hard work, and a gift from the Creator. Greyson hit the ground running with what the Master Artist gave him. Thank God.

Watching this again, Jason, I agree with what you say about reincarnation. My dad was a Buddy Rich fanatic. I saw Buddy twice when I was younger. We always said there will never be another Buddy Rich. Then, one day, on Tik Tok this young Greyson fellow appears. I've been drumming nearly 40 years and I knew what I was seeing. The dynamisn, the power, the speed, the intensity, the control, the attack - but the 100% on-point stabs, crashes, the timing just blew me away and had me captivated and mesmerised. Just imagine what we'll be seeing and hearing when he's in his thirties!

Is incredible prodigy.. his left hand is just as good as Buddy.. yeah maybe his left hand is Buddy.. it's like literally watching Buddy Rich Gene Krupa Louie belson and Steve Smith and Stewart Copeland all combined into one. Absolutely freaking amazing!!!
@cmralph...2 жыл бұрын
The major difference is Krupa and Rich were both speed (meth) users which was common at the time and still is among some musicians, to the best of my knowledge, this kid is clean. I've watched his left-hand video 50 times - where he explains how he holds it - and I still can figure it out. There are a few podcasts where Greyson explains how he got this good and his practice work ethic.

I often spoke with Buddy when I was a teen. His band played at Disneyland often in the Summer. I think he’d be overjoyed seeing him play. Imagine them getting together and playing. It would be glorious.

I have only been playing 32 years but there is always room to learn more. Especially when it is that bloody good. Dont suppose you have his number do you? 🙂
