Siberiano is a great drummer. Garstka is a great drummer too...and composer, and free style jammer...etc. Anyone can hit hard and fast after practicing for days but Matt, he can finess the set too improv style. Love how he has the same overall setup ☝️ here as with Animals as Leaders too

Matt is the only drummer I've seen who extends himself to the very limits of his creative ability, even to the point of failure. You can find clips of him "messing up". But even then, it's still awesome. Currently my favorite drummer (no disrespect to Neil, RIP).

When it comes to accuracy and speed, Elestepario is unbeatable. The world has never seen anything like that, not even close. He's almost reaching the uncanny valley where he hits so fast and clean that feels robotic and artificial. Matt has reached a level of understanding about time, metrics and rythm that nobody has ever done before. He literally sees the matrix. The rest of us only can look at him as he was some kind of alien. I personally enjoy Matt more, but both are top 1 in some aspect.

To be fair, Garstka even in this video shows there's speed and accuracy like Estepario has. Professional player against true savant isn't a real comparison. There's countless professionals like Estepario, but only few savants like Garstka. Few, but still more than couple. Thing that puts Estepario in the uncanny valley is that he basically lacks groove and finesse, yet he's precise and powerful player. Fast too, for sure. Just nothing special.

No question Matt is better than El Estepario and probably 95% of the drummers in the world. El Estepario I'm sure would say that Matt is better than him. El Estepario is probably better at being faster and doing one hand fills and twirls. But as a drummer and technicality, knowledge and creativity Matt is at the very top with only a few others are at. Just listen to the fills they do. You get impressed by Matt's fills because it is creative, new and different. It's usually something you've never heard before. El Esteparios fills are impressive because it is superfast and done by one hand which is amazing! But what's harder to accomplish is creativity. I am sure Matt can do what El Estepario does is he tries too, I'm not sure if El Estepario can be as creative as Matt is at this point. Pay attention to the groove as well. Matt's grooves are unique, it's hard to say with El Estepario but I haven't seen him do what Matt can do. But at the end of the day both of these guys are leagues ahead most everyone.

Estepario is cool, but he doesn't have a very mature playing style in my opinion. Matt however has a very mature playing style. El couldn't even come close to Matt's, dynamics, finesse and creativity. But it's not a competition at the end of the day. But I'm not going to lie and not stay facts lol

estepario is clearly great but even he's said that he can't comprehend most of matt's parts and that it takes him months to transcribe his simplest parts. he's also said himself that matt is the best prog drummer in the world and one of his favorite drummers ever. estepario is very advanced technically but he's lacking in the innovative/creativity side of things and pushing boundaries musically. that's where the god tier players separate themselves from great players.

I don't know about that. Matt is super technical. El is a great drummer with a lot of flash and he's very fun. I don't think that makes him better. Does he have any technical stuff. I've only seen covers from him

Siberiano would absolutely disagree with you, he knows Matt is better and has publically stated so in his reaction videos to Gartska. He admits he lacks in ability to work with odd time signatures and polyrhytms anywhere near the way Matt does, and he praises him for it. And Matts creativity is literally boundless.

Estepario makes simple sound complicated. Garstka makes complicated sound simple. I find the latter to be significantly more impressive as a drummer.
