I’ve watched most everything to be seen and most of Simon Phillips. The playing on this track is about playing the music and his subtlety and creativity is inspiring and his feel impeccable

A tune clearly "easy" to play on drums.... made up into something completely rich of "feeling". Simon is the best, both for advanced stuff and easy one.

Simon you are the Man! I Have rarely seen a drummer who feels the music like you! Great job! There is a difference with a lot of drummers because what they play though it sounds fast and generally skillful, their playing feels stilted and unorganized. Which brings me to the point which is that you can learn the drums and get quite good at it but when you can feel the music it goes to a whole new level. You are at that level!

Has a similar vibe to that which he played on The Pump - There and Back - Jeff Beck..........he really is the Master of understatement

I agree with the comment on Simons sound, and would add his songs. I only wish he would get into rudiments for open-handed playing, like how he started and what he recommends. His use of two Tom strikes in relation to the tuning.

Rock musicians are simply the classical players of today. Without awesome rock musicians, Jazz and classical players music would be virtually dead.

Simon a great drummer who can play rock amongst all his other stuff. The average rock drummer is real basic on the spectrum of drums.

what a lame edit tho, during the first part of fill, his left foot is shown. suggestion, next time when a drummer plays fill for example please show what the drummer is playing during the fill.

For this song u dont need all of drums

So you mean a piano player shall remove his tangents which he doesn't use in a song as well?... Come on!... This is Simon Phillips` instrument, which he has been experimenting with tuning and sounds for many many years. Drums tuned according to each others. He has his own sound thanks to the build of this drum set, and how the sounds goes together. Also, he is an extremely versatile drummer who plays many many styles, which can, and often does, vary from song to song. He cannot re-rig his kit for every darn song. xD Again.. the way this kit is, that IS Simons instrument. Not without the octobansm, gong-drum or a few toms less. THIS is his instrument, like a bass-player usually have 4 strings on his instrument. He doesn't remove strings if he doesn't use them all in a song...

Perhaps not. But for all the other songs in the show, he probably does.

I'd prefer to see him do something like this one on a 4 piece: 1 bass, 1 snare and 2 toms with only hi hats, crash and ride. Give him less of an excuse to show off. 😏
@mikeingman48413 жыл бұрын
@@HazeAnderson I don't know how old you are but I've seen him play with various different bands I am here to tell you he uses every one of those drums in his massive drum kit. It has a lot more flavour than a 4 piece drum set. Understand what your saying about a smaller drunk yet but he is a showman and I am here to tell you I've seen him use every one of those Tom's everything hes got.

I feel like the guy behind his drum stage. . ."Your solo is BORESOME." Plenty of your gadgets helps nothing.

Spoken like a true asshole who knows nothing about playing drums ...why don`t you show up at some master class of his and show Simon how its done... you piece of shit.
