He plays in the band Night Verses, where he does get to flex his skills. All the musicians in the band are incredible and they manage to create some impressive compositions where both the very technical drumming and guitar work shine.

Check out his 40 minute opus “Blurlights in the Videodrome” and his Attention Deficit Drumming videos. You’ll see so many ways he’s pushing drumming forward. One example is using guitar pedals with his left foot that are connected to a mic that he can move around to the snare or a cymbal.

Only just heard of Aric tonight and of course, just found your channel. Love your insight and in depth explanations. Also a breath of fresh air in not being an overreactor. Too many people are excessive and exaggerated in their reactions. This one is definitely not that and seems way more natural and sincere. Got yourself a new sub!

Yes do some more of them. Nice reaction. Love your take on it. I know what your saying about the different style of drummers. I’m a keyboard player. Been doing it 40 years. Don’t sell yourself short on what you do because I have played with many drummers and I can tell you in 4 bars even before a singer starts singing if its going to be a fun night or a long night. He hasn’t played any thing but kick hi hat and snare. Its a feel. Some have it and some don’t.

The best drum solo I have seen (have you seen it) was Phil Collin and his drummer doing a drum duet. They released it on either the longs or the shorts (can't remember which one as I have both). Either way, really really good drum solo. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXKWo32Oi5mFaqc
