At the time, I thought the Band-Maid instrumental you reacted to, "From Now On," represented a step up in Kanami's compositional and arranging skills. This song is yet another distinct elevation. Saiki wrote and sang the moving and powerful lyrics. All the members rose in unison to the challenge. A truly great song and an insightful reaction. You could have gone longer. That would have been fine with me. Thanks.

Another song that only Band-Maid can create. It's mind-numbing that this 4/4 rock band, using basic rock progressions, using standard instruments, can keep putting stuff together that is so satisfying, thorough and unique while still evolving.

Tony you’re able with your knowledge and background to verbalize WHY I love this band. I just listen and enjoy, but your breakdowns of a segment and pointing out subtleties and their effect on the song spells it out clearly. And as a layperson I agree. Akane is all that and more. I love how each member of the band serves the overall sound of the music. Akane's accents and her natural sense of timing and timbre are razor sharp. Normally coupling with Miku, MISA, Kanami and even Saiki. Akane knows exactly what each moment of each song needs when she plays. Sure there are drummers out there that are more powerful and arguably faster but I doubt they can match Akane for shear musicality.

I drummed for a living in the 80's and 90's here in Oz, gave the skins away for a long time until at the young age of 62 I discovered the Maids and one incredible Akane Hirose, she is my drumming Avatar and importantly has the two important rules of drumming nailed, rule 1: drumming is fun, it's a fcken hoot, rule 2: see rule 1. If you were to put this song out on the marching field, there are some awesome "company front" moments. Heavy low brass, flowing mellophones, some sailing trumpets and a groovy battery. Back in the 80's, our music composer, Jeff Cesario (he is also famous comedian...Tonight Show, Letterman, HBO specials, writer for Dennis Miller and a percussionist) took songs from Manhattan Transfer, Michael Jackson, Dazz Band and Al Jarreau and turned them into fun performance pieces. My favorite was the "drum tune" he did with Paul Simon's "Late in the Evening".... lots of tubas and spanish trumpets and great percussion.

The songs already released earlier in the year are just Band-Maid awesomesauce! The six new songs are so tightly integrated and complex, it's going to take a Tokyo minute to assimilate. But I already love Forbidden Tale, and especially The One. 😉🤘 btw - We should all wish a "Good Luck" to Band-Maid's new self-run management company: Maidit, Co., LTD! Will they managing other bands, boost Cluppo and Maiko projects, or tour more internationally? Or maybe they will expand their business interest to other sectors of the music biz outside of Band-Maid. I believe Kanami wants to get more into composing, scoring and production. And as for Miku and Saiki, the sky's the limit for what they'll want to do in merch, fashion and art, etc.. Thx, Tony!

I know it's weird to compare a rock band to the military, but in my opinion, Band-Maid is the SEAL Team Six of rock and roll. Why, well like the Seals, the members of Band-Maid have SO much individual talent yet they combine those honed and sophisticated talents to the team (group) with the purpose of achieving their objective. With Band-Maid it is making the best possible song they can make. That drive for perfection and perfect harmony in an imperfect world is what sets Band-Maid apart from so many rock bands.
