I've played many "real" snares that sounded like crap. This one sounds good because it's an incredible snare, there's a good mic, and a good amount of EQ, compression, and processing that went into the final product.

If you have a tune-bot and want the same snare drum sound you have to tune the top lug to 285 Hz and the bottom lug to 420 Hz, and also have a 14'' 6,5'' Yamaha recondig custom snare ;)
