I love this series. I have scans of all of the old issues but it's fun to casually watch these with your commentary.

No kidding. Might differ on opinions for some things, but mainly I dig the channel. Some rare exceptions do apply.

I loved receiving Nintendo Power every month as a kid, but I can see how the internet killed the magazine industry. Strangely, instead I am now watching a video over the internet of someone reading a magazine, lol.

I still see magazines on stands. Guess gaming was just ahead of it. And that is a strange observation.

You give some of the best, no bullshit, informative and entertaining reviews on the interwebs. I've been exposed to at least a dozen great games thanks to your videos. I'm currently playing through Dragon View, a game I had no idea existed, and I'm LOVING it. Thank you, sir.

It's crazy how close Mother 1 was to localization. It's why in Earthbound Beginnings it's just simply called Earthbound at the title screen.

Yep, those were the days. When we (like that ninja gaiden guy) did speedruns just so we could boast to TEN people, namely whoever was in the room. In Serbia, we had "clubs" (ie someone's garage) where you could play SNES or Sega at an hourly rate, so kids would congregate and spontaneous speedrun tournaments would ensue. The prize was being cool.

Great video. Back in the day when Internet wasn't a thing, this kind of info was gold. I remember that some of my instructions books were poorly translated into Portuguese. That sucked. Congrats, man.

What an issue!! Damn, NP was good the whole way through but I always felt like starting around the late 90s they just weren't quite as great or thorough nor had quite as much personality as the earlier-mid 90s issues my older bro got. But now I'm seeing the late 80s / super early 90s issues were even better still. What a mag. I really wish something like this could still exist today, even if there's no point. Also MM3 was my first favorite game too and is still one of my faves, great taste.

Hey SNESDrunk, I'm absolutely loving this series. I know it's likely less your domain, but would you ever be interested in doing issues from 2002-2005 or so? I feel like the GBA and GameCube era was NP's last great time period, and in particular, feel they really hit their stride there. The DS era became more professional and lost their... aloofness, I think. I lost my NP collection about five years ago and still miss it. Thanks for this!

You could be missing out great content on hobbies and other stuff that interest you. Maybe you're too busy with school, work or life, but if you stop watching meme crap that adds nothing to your life perhaps you could stomach longer videos. I'm saying this, because last year I was just like you, longer videos were a big no-no for me.

I love the fact that you copied down that Megaman chart. I would have done that exact same thing as a child. I was pretty crazy. One time, I was making character stat sheets for every enemy in Earthbound, including my 10-year-old-self's best estimate at the drop rate for items. I even had my grandma take my template to work with her and make a bunch of copies for me to fill out. What the hell, I had so much free time then.

Hey man! i actually just snagged this issue of nintendo power at an old games collection store, its currently in a sleeve in the back of my display case with my copy of metal storm, so i dont really want to pull it out and fiddle through it, so i will say that your video is an amazing analysis of the issue! thanks for taking the time to make these! i have a few questions for you thought... -if this issue came with the battletoads poster, do you recall which one came with metal storm poster? -did you ever find out what happened to the figure of the M-308 gunner that they use throughout the issue? thanks again!

What a great magazine! here in South America we have the Club Nintendo magazine, it's great, but too bad it was realized at the ends of 1992 when the SNES was already out, so, they didn't talked too much about NES games, only about the populars like Super Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Battletoads, so...

There's far more you can do with the 2nd controller in Mega Man 3, each button and direction has certain effects, like locking animations, slow down gameplay, lock only enemies, lock only Mega Man, etc.
