@@AmritDillon Here's how I believe the island would've been settled if it was real: There would probably be an austronesian native population as well as a few arab merchants and traders in the north and maybe some african slaves, who probably would have been castrated because the Arabs didn't want their slaves to reproduce. Madagascar was first settled by indonesians, not africans despite being much closer to africa. Seychelles which is at a similar distance off the african mainland had no african population compared to Madagascar which is much closer so probably a lot more africans would be brought in by the British and French and they would intermix forming a creole culture but still mainly Austronesian as we see with Madagascar. Basically i believe the island would be a larger, more diverse and more austronesian version of madagascar we have today and conversely I believe Madagascar would also be more Austronesian as a result of having a large Austronesian stock population source so close by to trade, travel to, have wars and interact with.
