He's way behind Jackson Holiday at the plate. No denying that arm from the outfield though. That is impressive. At the plate, he needs to get his left foot down faster, before he begins his swing. Those big leg kicks lead to strikeouts and grounding into double plays. He ground a few to shortstop at BP which is really not a good sign. I'm sure they're working with him.

Dominican baseball players are usually very good, and lots end up getting scouted by age 16-18, but there aren’t many people out there with the tools like Druw. Yes, there are stronger, faster, and/or harder throwing people in the draft and in foreign countries (The DR included), but he has a very balanced combination of speed, power (though he doesn’t hit for it all that much), contact, fielding ability, and arm strength. That is why he was drafted so high, and why scouts would deem him better then a lot of international and national prospects, including those from the Dominican Republic.

@@JoeNathanLucroy American prospect wise I would say Corbin Carroll out of HS is very comparable to Druw Jones skill set. International prospect wise I would say maybe Cristian Hernandez or JROD. The biggest thing that JROD and Corbin have on Druw when they were 18 was there bat to ball skills. Druw is a better overall athlete but Carroll and JROD were better hitters at 18. This time off for Druw I think is going to help him get strong and gain some muscle mass.
