Hi! Thanks for visiting. Regarding the politics, don't worry at all. In Serbia, people separate ordinary people from politicians. You won't have any problems with that. Sorry about the receptionist. Maybe she just had a bad day... Besides Drvengrad, have you visited any other places? Greetings from Belgrade

Oh that’s great to know - it’s just so hard to read people when you are visiting a different country sometimes cuz it can be so many different things lol - she probably was having a bad day. I wasn’t able to visit anywhere else unfortunately because of the time constraints and where we were driving. I’ll be in Eastern Europe again and am sure I’ll stop through Belgrade ;)

So you won’t visit the rest of Serbia? Western Serbia (where Drvengrad is located) is known to be, let’s say the most ‚radical‘ area of Serbia if you wanna call it like that. However as a Serb I can confirm that most Serbs don’t have a problem with Americans whatsoever, just with the politics perhaps. All in all, if you plan to visit the rest of Serbia, which I of course will recommend, feel free & don’t be afraid, we don’t bite :) Cheers.

Oh I definitely want to see Belgrade at some point - it’s good to know it’s the Western half, I wasn’t mad at all, just genuinely felt soooo uncomfortable (and I work in healthcare so that’s saying something 😂) - was really hoping someone from Serbia would comment and sooooo glad u did! Makes me feel loads better exploring the other parts for sure. Thanks a MILLION!
