Wait what ??? Highest carbs AFTER WORKOUT WHY NOT BEFORE?????
@joanneclark825611 ай бұрын
@@DrWendi I have the highest carbohydrate after a workout why not before
@DrWendi11 ай бұрын
@@joanneclark8256 after a workout your muscles need to replace glycogen so they will take up lots of glucose and less will be stored in your fat cells. If you eat carbs right before, it can stimulate insulin that can lower blood sugar and make you feel tired, depends how much carbs you eat. If you are doing a long endurance activity then I would munch on carbs periodically in small amounts, like if you are going to hike up a mountain for 5 hours, then you want to bring carbs with you. You can also carb load the day before a major activity to try and store lots of glycogen for the next day.

I love all of your videos! Quick question: You mentioned that our body pushes us to drink more water to dilute sugar (after eating birthday cake), so can we in theory have a lowered insulin response if we drank a lot of water with something high in sugar? So suppose I eat that same cake with a lot of water and then without water at all, which would be worse?

Thank you that was the best explanation I've ever heard. I've been dealing with this high blood sugar forever and I keep falling back into the birthday cake matrix.
