No worries. I only freeze my flour before hand. For one week then let come to room temperature. The rice and beans I don’t freeze. Just put right in the jars.

That is how I do it now. Oven Canning flour was something I used to do. But not anymore.

question: why doesn't the flour cook? and is the temp 200' on just bake or fan bake I couldn't hear properly. I suggest when you are talking have no music only put it on when on fast forward. I only say that because with child making noise and music and you talking it makes it hard to hear. Otherwise great video, I am trying to learn safe storage where food doesn't spoil, especially with my garden full of tomatoes and only I eat them lol and zucchini. Do you do same with rice or is rice different?

Hey. Thanks for your comment. Will definitely take any suggestions. I did order a microphone so hopefully it will help as well. The flour does not cook as it’s only on 200 degrees and it’s just making it warm. It’s on just bake.

Rice would be the same. As does pasta and beans and anything that’s dry already.

@@homemaking1016 awesome thank you, will buy some jars and try with flour and rice, how long do you freeze product for? sorry for all the questions I have never tried this before and want to make a survival pantry so I can look after my family if a disaster comes.

@@annie-thesupernannie00 The USDA recommends freezing flour for 72 hours to kill any pantry moth eggs.

@@homemaking1016 It's been five months so maybe you already did this, but you only need a Lavaliere mic. Either that or just do your voiceover on your phone after shooting the video. Your built in microphone is enough for recording, assuming no other interference (high winds, construction, etc.).

Have you tried sitting the lid on correctly before adding the ring? That may be why you had difficulty with one of your oat jars; the lid wasn't seated properly.

Yes. Doesn’t really made a difference just depends on each lid. I actually stopped using ball name brand because I had too many not sealing.

That is a long time to run your oven.

Yes. There are other options such as oxygen absorbing packs which can be used in bags or jars. This is just cheaper to do
