Drying your own fresh herbs is really simple. Most don't require any special equipment and it is incredible cost effective when you consider how much it costs to purchase dried herbs from the stores.
To dry rosemary you are going to want to cut individual branches from the main plant.
Fill your kitchen sink with cool water about 1/3 of the way.
Place all your branches in the sink and shake them around the water vigorously to loosen any dirt from them. You will see the dirt sink to the bottom of the sink.
You need to remove the needles from each branch by pulling down from the top in the opposite direction from the way they grow.
Place the stripped needles on a parchment covered baking sheet and leave on the counter until they are dry. Depending on the humidity where you live it could take a couple of days up to a week for them to dry.
Place another sheet of parchment on the top to prevent anything from settling on top of the herbs while they are drying.
Store in a mason jar when they are completely dry.
