Lake Mead is drying up, not because of the drought, but because of excessive and UNRESTRICTED use of the water by cities that should have enacted severe water restrictions one or two years ago. These Greedy people buried their heads in the sand and ignored the downward trend in Mead and Powell.

IF California, Arizona, Mexico and probably Nevada invested in building desalination infrastructure to sustain the future, this may never have happened, or at least it wouldn't be as detrimental as it is today. It is really going to get bad when Lake Meade becomes a dead pool and Hoover Dam can no longer make electricity. So, how expensive is that desalination process now?

Lets tell the history and the reason why Higgins boats were developed. In WW2 the US needed a boat that could drive into the beach and unload its cargo... whatever that was quickly and then go back into the water for reuse. They were built in Louisiana out of wood and they were never designed for long term use. They were purpose built very quickly and expected to serve their purpose and likely end up at the bottom of the ocean. Someone probably purchased this one after WW2 as surplus and used it until it couldn't be used any longer. Historic because of why it was built, but its life is that of a surplus military artifact. There are 100s of these boats around the world, their historic value is in its purpose, not its physical being. But from the pics in this video, it doesn’t look like a Higgins boat. Higgins built all of the boats he designed with drop down ramps in the front for quick unloading. The boat in this video doesn’t appear to be designed that way, meaning it’s not a Higgins.

It's not just Lake Mead!! Florida Lake Jackson is gone. Utah has a lake dried up here on KZbin. Also. USA Today has a video about drying up wells on farm land. Something is happening.

What happened to the giant fish that have been reported to be in those lakes ? Havn`t heard the first fish story yet.

If you visit Sin City Outdoors channel, they are almost exclusively hunting and fishing in Nevada. They're ranked tournament bass fishermen for one. It's pretty good content. They also talk about the fish boils in lake Mead.
