Metal bead will crack in the future if you dont hot mud the first coat and tape the edge, that’s why we don’t use metal bead anymore, we use tape on only.

So I’ve done hundreds of drywall jobs and I still hate the traditional hawk. Nice to see how well others can handle it without having to clean it every 5 minutes!

Question. I notice you hold the Trowel what I would consider back to front. However I could be wrong and I’m using the trowel back to front. So my question is does it matter?

It does not matter. your comfort and efficiency is key. If you know what the final result has to look like it doesn't matter how you get there. tbh I hold my towel all different ways depending how I feel lol
