Drywall Finishing-Part 3-12" Box and Troweling

Here is Part 3 of finishing drywall in a house. In this video I use a 12" box for applying mud to the horizontal seam and a trowel to apply mud to the rest of the seams.

Tip: keep a rare earth magnet in pocket, keeps drywall knife handy. Good video, I acquired a few tips.

Be careful with that wedding ring on. I’ve had guys brake fingers ( one lost a finger ) when ring got caught in something on the job. Was first thing the old timers taught us when I started in construction ….

You are absolutely correct! I know some older local guys who lost a finger due to their ring. Theirs were due to farming but the same thing applies here. Thanks for the info.

What type of mud are you using for your finishing coats and what is the consistency?

I use Lite Blue by Pro Form. It is affordable and it works easily. As far as consistency, I mix it just loose enough to work easily but not so much as to run out of the box when it gets tipped sideways.
