I appreciate the video I’m stuck in between but after thinking I’d still lean towards the b&c. Only because the ds18 does play higher frequencies compared to the b&c ..... pair the ds18 with a tweeter and I’ll have more higher end volume and not enough in the mid range area...... now pair the b&c with a tweeter it will be more of a balance of sound quality.

The B&C is doing what it supposed to do and that is play mid-range. The ds18 is playing mid-range and tweeter and will distort before the B&C will.

DS18 is a great brand for getting loud but if course they'll get warm the longer they're played at a high volume like any speaker, I've got a pair right now of 4x6 DS18s in my truck with a DS18 GEN-X1600.4 amp and there loud and clear and punchy for $40, pretty cool brand tbh and the value is amazing for what they price there stuff at, only issue ive had is a annoying clip light on my DS18 S3500.1d, Idk how many times I've readjusted the levels on the amp and volume on my radio and as soon as bass hits its flashing at me with every hit, I've got no idea why it does it

you can have full power at 1/6 gain. check rca voltage. tuned for distortion with a dd1+. also clip lights are cheap & the soldering comes out inside so don’t be surprised if it doesn’t work mine broke the day after i got it with my taramps md12k

Depends what you using it for da 18 is for if you just want a replacement and you have no tweeters but if you building a as quality system da 18 no gd gonna play to high especially if you have tweeters and all of that

Totally agree. DS18 is not meant for quality. They build them strictly to be loud and for people that don’t want to take the time to properly tune them. If he was to compare them after they have been tuned properly, the B&C would show why it’s a better speaker.
