What about trying a new video format? Why to compare only two sets of speakers when most of us world probably handle comparing three sets of speakers at the same time?

i bought the LP-6's a couple of years ago. i bought them due to all the hype and recommendations from youtube audio engineers and audio reviewers. every one of them raved about how transparent and accurate they are. so i can finally admit one thing here & now, either my ears are broken or i just don't know what good sounding speakers are supposed to sound like. i do know what i like - DYNAMICS! i'm 54 so my ears aren't what they used to be. these are for recording and mastering engineers only because they are flatter than any brick wall ever built. if you need absolutely no coloring or emphasis across the spectrum so you can ensure a good mix, then these are for you. BUT - if you are like me and just want a great sounding dynamic set of playback monitors to ENJOY, then steer clear of these monitors. they totally lack any excitement or spice during playback of any source without the aid of a lot of EQ which i hate doing. i still have them and will use them as a reference point only but they are being replaced as my daily driver set because they are so incredibly boring to listen to unless you're one of those audiophiles that swear that its ok that the artist intended to bore you to death with uninteresting sound reproduction.

These tests are good to discern between the tonal characteristics between speakers and perhaps imaging at some degree. But not properties such global staging and placement. Nevertheless, it seems like the jbl's are still unbeatable in the center imaging and the midrange resolving. The v2 have a bigger woofer so it's to be expected that the upper midrange sound a little bit recessed, but that's maybe because the speaker is staging and placing better. Better low frequency resolution. But the jbl phantom center is just so stable and tangible. Both speakers are good for the price range, but as for the same, both have also other caveats...

I frankly don't like how the LP-6 sound like. I own the 305P MKII and the closest speakers to them would be Adam T5V, for around same price range. I honestly still wait for a set speakers to beat the 305P MkII, in the same price range.

I own a pair of JBL 305 and they are fantastic! 😚 I don't like Kali lp6 as it's bulkier than JBL and has bigger cone but lower driving power..! WTF! 😂

Jbl 305p sounds way closer to refrence also it sounds way more pleasing. Its actually the one pleasing one i heard on this channel all everything else sounds harsh

the JBL tweeters are just so clean in the real. I have the Kali 6's, the Gold 8's, JBL 2305's, JBL pro 580's all good. I chose the LP 6 over the JBL 3 series because they have a set of dip switches to adjust room positioning. Pick a set and stay with it for a while to learn how to use them with your style and preference hardware. Then buy a more expensive set. Learn that and so on.

Love your videos. I am currently using the JBL 305P and considering upgrading to either LP-6, or IN-5 or IN-8... But I can't make up my mind. Do you have any advice?

I had the Kali LP-8 and I was not impressed with them, sadly. They sounded kind of flat and not very dynamic, there is a strange "hollowness" to the sound. I was very disappointed. I had the JBL 305P original version, they sounded way better than the LP-8 did in all respects. I am currently using Presonus Eris E5XT with the Presonus 8" Temblor subwoofer, and they sound amazing as well. I would be interested to see how the JBL 305p Mk2 sound in my room as opposed to the Eris E5XT. I do love the way these sound and the subwoofer is small but heavy and mighty!

Rick, the LP-6v2 are a different beast from the LP-8. The improvements the Kali brought to v2 has brought the LP-6 into the pro arena.

@@stuffnuns hello. is it that good? I have recently learnt the existence of the models from the Kali brand. I am looking for ref. monitors to use while playing the electric guitar using an audio interface, a daw and some plugins etc. Do you think they are good or should I just go with the M-audio BX5D3 which are the cheapest in my area?

I have the original LSR305s (LSR30X). Would the LP-6 v2 be an upgrade to them in your opinion for mid-field (2.5m) listening?

Not really. Go for something bigger like LP8 V2

Your listening to Headphones or a pair of Monitors hooked up to your computer or maybe even the internal speakers. These comparisons are not relative in any way. DO NOT CHOOSE ANY PRODUCT BASED ON THIS INFO. It is just a playlist.

They sound like the frequency curves... no air on the LP-6 V2, both have excellent midrange with a little less low mids on the JBL and decent bass on both, where they reproduce good high bass but both lack true low frequencies... Sounds to me like the V2 has lost some sparkle versus the original... The JBL's are flat as hell with a little mid boost but not like a Yamaha...

Depends on where your heart lies. If you have a big room where you can enjoy the more technical performance of the LP-6, I'd go for that. But the JBLs have a better Frequency Response in any case... and the centre imaging (I've heard) is very good. Also, the JBLs have a more pleasant signature, because not everyone likes the LP-6
The Kali Audio LP-6 V2 sound horrible, like if they were inside a cardboard box :S. I honestly don't understand why people like them.
@durrantmiller8810 Жыл бұрын
Keep in mind you are hearing them through your own gear with a less than ideal measuring rig and youtube compression

This was not a close contest. Lp6 won by a mile. I didn’t think their lp6 v2 would be better than v1 wow
@Jewsenburg2 жыл бұрын
Factually incorrect. This test doesn't show imaging, staging, or indeed any technical performance through KZbin. Even in FR the JBLs have more bass/treble extention. From 200-800 hz, yes the JBLs miss out, because of its smaller driver, but the lower bass, vocals, instruments and in treble extension, the JBL takes it.
