is this trans a o2q 6 speed? if so what’d you do to monitor speed. also clutch setup on it? thanks
@TDISwaps Жыл бұрын
I would have to check on the exact engine code, I believe it was from a 2014. Speed on the BRM mk5 is from wheel speed sensor sensors, we used the stock clutch for the 2014 TDI

I am swapping a whole engine and manual trans, ecu, cluster into a 2012 JSW TDI. Where you able to sort out your cruise control, reverse lights, etc? My ecu will be set to malone to have it tuned and deleted.
@TDISwaps Жыл бұрын
That stuff unfortunately has not gotten finished, the newer wiring is not as easy as I was hoping, even wired back to factory setup I cannot seem to get the cruise to work. Sorry I cannot be of more help there

@@TDISwaps that's a bummer to hear, do you think it's something that needs to be flashed in the ECU? I'm wondering if I'll have that in the MK6 platform.

I got this 6 speed with all the parts to swap from www.korwerksllc.com/ not sure if that would be cost effective from your location, but all their prices are listed there

that website doesn't work anymore. How much was your swap

@a88888888a I think it was $1500 for everything, you can source it all with the newer 6 speed gassers now and still have decent gearing

I’m going to do this to my TDI some time soon. Do you know what to do about ecu communication?
@TDISwaps2 жыл бұрын
At least for the PD engines ECUs they need to be flashed by a tuner

im using a 07 gti 6 speed doner for my 09 jetta tdi dsg swap ... will this work if the bell housing fits?

It will work bell housing wise, but the gear ratios are lower so you will run higher RPM than a 5 speed I think

@@TDISwaps how does it operate compared to having a map sensor? I'm currently building my brm for performanve. I was thinking about try a waste gated Garrett gt2052 and gt3071r compound setup instead of the traditional vnt.
@TDISwaps3 жыл бұрын
Well you have to have a MAP sensor to control fueling but with a good tuner it can run almost exactly the same without the MAF. You just have to deal with the lag of a non VNT turbo and wait longer to make boost and to spool up to full boost. I have the gt2052 on my jeep and it takes 2200-2400 RPM to really kick in, with a compound setup it will slow a little more so I wouldn't expect spool up until closer to 3000 RPM

Lol ya I do like the DSG, makes for some super fast 0-60 times, but this was way cheaper than replacing the DSG lol. The ECU communication seems to be much more complicated than expected. I was hoping to just change coding in VCDS but apparently that's not possible on 2006+ VWs
