MPC Key 37 include 8(+1) plugins (the lack of FabricXL hurts.). MPC Key 61 include 25 plugins. If you buy all plugins for Key 37 it will be very expensive, so it follows that Key 61 is a much better buy.
@mudi2000a9 ай бұрын
It’s kind of annoying if you would prefer the key 37 because of size.
@bustagrinds8659 ай бұрын
The 61 is a better buy indeed, twice the memory, more buttons, and more expansions. I'm not complaining though, because the 37 is portable (usb power delivery power bank) and the 61 stays in place. Most of the plugins can be purchased on sale and/or in expansions for a couple hundred dollars total. Still comes out cheaper, but you do lose out on the extra Sample memory (mostly useful for layering more than 2 copies of piano, strings, and fabric xl)

Words for the wise, if you have an account with in music Then all the plug-ins for any MPC the 61 the mpc se X well automatically download to the 37 you just have to go into preference go into activations and activate each of the plug-ins for the 37 saving you time and money

Great review. You touched on a lot of what others don’t. It’s a MOAB definitely. Electronic/Techno producers DO NOT SLEEP on this workstation. It’s got music potential for producing all genres of music. I love it for its performance potential. Synth parameters are easy to access and manipulate. Not enough quick access control, easily route any external controller to do the job. The device is more than a beat machine/hiphop one stop.

So without really meaning to, I found my answer to the question: Did my MPC One Plus come with plugins or are the plugins registered to some one else and will they deactivate at random over time and leave me with an empty instrument? I am glad to know that NO.. I am good! I was afraid to register my one free plug in thinking all the other synths, effects and so on, would be deactivated with my registration of my one free plug in. I do remember seeing on YT that these MPC instruments came with some plug ins but I was not really sure if that was true or not. The keys 37 is the MPC one plus with keys and wheels, so I assume everything included in the keys 37 is included on the mpc one plus yes?

The closest thing to a DX plugin is to the OPX4. It's a 4 operator FM synth as opposed to a 6 operator synth like the DX7
@RobinFinck2 ай бұрын
HI, thank you for the overview. A little question : is it possible to "import" vst or sounds which are not selled as expansion on AKAI website ? For instance, if you like DX7 sounds, is it possible to "add" them on this machine via sd card or via a plugged wire between your laptop and the mpc key 37 ? Cause 90% of the mcp expansions on the website are urban music/hip hop/RnB... So I wonder if there is a possibility to get 80's sounds, industrial or dark wake sounds from a pluggin which is not proposed by AKA. I precise I'm totally noob in the groovebox universe. Thanks.

Unfortunately no, only Akai expansions and VSTs can be added. You could sample sounds into the MPC, but that may not be what you're looking for.

How can you transfer your Akai expansion packs to your key 37
@shortt76934 ай бұрын
From the pc and go to tools in mpc beats and see expansion
@michealgraham2 ай бұрын
You have to have an MPC 2 software download the software connect the USB cord from your laptop or desktop to your MPC hit the tab that says files go from Files to expansion. It will give you a list of all the expansion packs that you have in the software to transfer over to the 37 or whatever MPC you have, when you download the expansion packs, they have to go to your email registered to Music once you download them onto the computer. We have to activate them in your Apple or Windows device restart your computer open up the MPC icon controller mode on your MPC 37 repeat the steps hit the tab for files, hit the tab for expansions the expansion pack that you want at the top that says go and it will transfer or expansion packs from the MPC to software onto your MPC 37 or any device so you can use them and stand alone

What studio Headphones do you recommend or a couple you would recommend?

I am using the AKG K92's right now as my main studio headphones: www.zzounds.com/a--518275/item--AKGK92?siid=183450 I love them and got them for vocal recording so I get less bleed-through of the click track due to them being closed-back. I also have the semi open AKG K240's that I love as well, they are more expensive and semi-open, so I don't find them as good for recording vocals. Great for everything else though! www.zzounds.com/a--518275/item--AKGK240MKII?siid=59071

@@DSoundman Nice video showcasing the abilities. Do you know how this would work with a MPC Live in standalone? Which unit would be the master? I like the idea because if you have 2 stand-alone, you will not have to worry about loading the keyboard VST's in the MPC Live. Just not sure how or if they can work together.
