Hello Joe, I have enjoyed many of your videos. I'm going to do an in frame on a '96 466. Thank you for making the effort to share your expertise! One question, I have not seen you change main bearings on any I've watched. Is it your experience that it typically is not necessary or that the crank needs to be removed? Good evening Joe big fan of your work your a wizard with the dt466e i have a ? I have a 2012 durastar 4300 with a dt466e that I've turned into a camper and im having to add coolant every few hundred miles, no leaks on the ground or mixing with the engine oil, suspecting EGR cooler? Wanted to get your thoughts and insight on it if I can. Thanks

You should prelube everything. Piston, rings, piston pin. Not just the crank bearings

hey joe, dt530 the harness im having problems with feeds the icp camshaft sensor and runs to the ecm. so the wire that goes to the camshaft sensor which other sensor does the other two wires feed. ac shredded ripped off the airline feeding the fan clutch and ripped the two sensors off the harnesses so im trying to figure out what the other two wires go too.. thank you

Hello Joe maybe you can help me find out the part number of the main oil gallery cup plugs on the rear of the crankcase of a DT466e 2005. They are tiny aluminum expansion plugs. Thanks for your help 👊🏻

I think you are referring to the small 25/64 expansion plugs. Don’t have a part number but I do have a size (diameter). Hope this helps.

What about the rings being clocked correctly? I have never trusted them to do that.

I have a 98 International 7.6, I took off the fuel tank and washed it with water well. I connected the fuel hoses by mistake and gave it air pressure, then I corrected the error. I tried to start the truck. It never started. Can you explain to me the reason?

I have a 05 DT530 that is leaking oil between the injection pump and the timing cover.. have a new seal.. does this injection pump have to be timed? I cannot see a lock pin on the pump and on some common rail jobs ive done, they didn't require timing..

No. Pump doesnt have to be timed.
